I'll admit. Very early on I got a sneaking suspicion that Ko was a rather flat character, and that things weren't going to be done to change this.

Mind you, back then I was working under the assumption that the writing in Hanasaku Iroha was much tighter than it turned out to be, and that this off distant stuff with Ko was working up to some message about being willing to move on with your life. So it seemed unlikely that they'd just toss Ohana and Ko back together without significant build up.


I was wrong only in that I overestimated writing quality

Well, a pretty good episode, not great.
Really too bad Satsuki is so destructive towards herself, drinking, smoking etc.
She could be so much more as she is very bright and extremly beautiful.
