Judging from the Wikipedia description, I'd say it should be a little different. On the first exercise where they all have to find and hit fake viruses, those that don't hit enough don't eat and you see at least a few people starving to death in the cafeteria. And on the second part where there are tons of tricks, anytime someone hit one that wasn't a virus the macrophage holding up the prop would hand them a knife and tell them to commit seppuku. The life of a T-cell is seriously brutal.

which makes it weird considering that there are so many autoimmune disease out there
The selection is supposed to be more brutal than this

about B-cell, there are lots of cases where they produced antibodies that attacked body
They're also undergoing similar selection I believe so that they won't have any weird receptors on its cell surface

Wikipedia also said that the final stage in question isn't by any means perfect. Even within a perfectly healthy thymus there would be a lot of T cells that managed to get lucky and simply not encounter a fake or not encounter one they'd attack. And if there's anything wrong to weaken it or compromise it or damage its ability to test certain things then those numbers can increase by a ton. This is set in an exceptionally healthy body it seems, though. Black would probably have a much more random selection with many people getting through without a proper test.

Black probably wouldn't have much of a thymus any more at all, right? The thymus is only active in childhood and teenage years, and that's clearly the body of an adult, probably middle-aged.

So my body actually an authoritarian government that kills the young if they're deemed unable to contribute to society...Well as disturbing as it sounds I'm kinda okay with only the very best surviving to keep my body safe.

Episode 10

Monocyte is a badass, just a straightforward type of badass.

It looks like bacteria went to attack Red Cells but found little luck. It's not until one of the other Big Bad Antigens came into the picture that things looked more troubling. Pretty crazy episode tbh.

An army of Monocyte is aso pretty intimidating lol. Same with the macrophage cells.

Also, really cute to see the platelets again!

God damn! The Macrophages are the MVPs of this episode! Truly a spectacular bunch as they kill their adversaries with kindness!

Momcrophages are the best cells. Taking care of the Kindergarten Cells, cleaning all the mess in the body, killing everything that gets out of hand and always having a smile on their faces. <3
Also squishy Platelet cheek is squishy! <3 <3 <3

So... When the white blood cells leapt up from the drains, did anyone else hear 'Guren no Yumiya' in their head, or was it just me. It was the leaping up and the pose.

So help me, I do love those Macrophages, the epitome of 'speak softly and carry a big stick' - or axe, or hammer....

The funny thing is, the ones that are 10x as big as their enemies and kill them by eating them are the Neutrophils and the Macrophages, if anything...

watching Staphylococcus aureus again makes me wonder... probably they are going to feature MRSA in future episode... it should be the final form of Staphylococcus

I just knew about coagulase though... I wonder if there are other bacteria that could pull out the similar trick...
There is also biofilm tactic which should be quite tricky to be deal with

Macrophage onee-san though.. I really forgot that Macrophage is just a mature version of monocyte...
although somehow in anime, monocyte and macrophage got different weapons
Monocyte is bringing the spray... while macrophage bring blunt weapon
at least they kills bacteria by hitting them... in reality, they eat them
