Bokura Ga Ita Dont think I've ever hated a male lead in a romance anime before as much as i hated Yano but you might want to try a couple eps and see if you like it or not.
Lovely Complex Probably the only one of the 4 in this post that I would say you should watch without a doubt. Infact I just re-watched it again earlier this week. It's a mix of comedy and romance. Honey and Clover I personally didn't enjoy this series but I do concede that it is very popular. Romeo x Juliet A new imagining of romeo and juliet and their forbidden love. P.S. I'm amazed someone actually recommended School Days as a romance anime . |

no magical/fantasy stuff...but it might not be up your alley...
Kodomo no Jikan...lol edit: also, Spice&Wolf has some light romance aspects to it. It's somewhat of a fantasy world, but i think the amount of fantasy involved probably is about the same as the KANON universe. It's more of a thinking person's anime though with a heavier emphasis on economy and politics...the romantic antics are fun to watch though |

And Gift also contains some fantasy magic-type stuff similar to Da Capo. |

If you've seen all of these, I'd almost demand watching Lovely Complex.
I think you should give ef - a tale of memories a try despite the slight fantasy theme. It's not very fantasy-like in my opinion, and you seem to have a taste quite similar to my own. |

Romance Anime Demi-God
|
Bokura ga Ita is really good, i search every couple months to see if they're are gonna do the part 2. the end of the story in the anime is only the halfway point of the manga.
now for my suggestions the best of all time - Love Hina (without a doubt) kinda old, but it set the trend for nearly ever romance anime ever. make sure you watch all 4 da capos' the original the second season, da capo 2 and da capo ss, which is still being subbed. Tonagura Welcome to the NHK ( has some romance, mostly comedy tho) Eureka 7 (not really fantasy as much as it could be possible, but most liekly not, still an AWESOME anime) Kanisama kazoku that should get you started anyway. if u want more let me know |

I would suggest Nana 'And paradise kiss both by the same person and both perfectly normal no sci-fi stuff or magic and it gets really deep and entertaining. The romance is very realistic and it makes sense in a way. Oh and it about two girls both named NANA

Love Hina Eureka Seven Clannad Basilisk I'S Pure Alright these are the only anime I can think of right now that has romance. There's other titles I know, but they include magic and supernatural stuff, which you have clearly mentioned not wanting any of. These titles do have supernatural but not to the extreme (Actually, most of these ones don't.) Some of them tend to be on the more perverted side unfortunately, but there's also comedy. Hope this help your search. If you need more help, just pm me. |
