The atmosphere in Noragami is quite fantastic. Especially the aforementioned scene where she's looking at the storms really takes advantage of the medium. It's nice to see an anime that's actually being done properly, and isn't covered in bad writing and infodumps. I like the methods they're using for exposition, and especially because most writers will just drop dialogue as exposition and call it a job well done. The music works really nicely too, except for that fight scene.

This is quickly becoming my favorite show this season, and so I really hope it continues to impress. And yeah, of course it would be a BONES show. That in itself was enough reason for me to watch this.

Edit: "No way! You mean I'm not wireless?!"

If you think she's special, then there's still one of Hiyori's friends who did see but wasn't sure (the other one didn't see at all)
this whole seen-unseen things will be explained in episode 3 (judging from the preview)

Jailbait?

How old do you think the readers/viewers are? Not THAT OLD... Right?

I finally got around watching ep 2, and I liked it a lot better than ep 1, I guess the setting is finally coming together. Hiyori is also coming together a little more as a character, and it helps that Uchida Maaya is in fact awesome. And poor Kaji Yuuki got a shota again... (I hope the Kaji hater brigade has already left here.) Also, very nice visuals, and nice music - not as epic as in Gatchaman Crowds, but it fits the show.

It's nice to know that at least one Bones show is doing it for me this season...

He's not a shota, I mean isn't "Shotacon" suppose to refer to little kids? Yuki is more of a teenager than a kid.

A teenager is still a kid. The only people who care enough to make the distinction are mostly kids themselves who like to make themselves feel older

Shota is not determined by age alone.
Height and facial structure is also important.

personally I find Yuuki Kaji as seiyuu but somehow the characters he voices are mostly annoying and his voice somehow suits them too much. as a result we put blame on him rather than characters. so I want to apologize

I still don't get story, and why Yato is obsessed with 5 yen. it is like he will save the world just for 5 yen

I believe a five yen coin is the traditional offering given at a deity's shrine when one goes there to pray for something.

He doesn't look like that much of a kid to me, I mean does that looks like a kid to you?

well does it have to be just 5 yen, I mean there must be other who give more money for offering. it differs from person to person. last episode was a bit pitiful. clean a drunk's bathroom just for 5 yen gave me a bi question mark. well ı wonder if there is a story behind this, like someone trick him that 5 yen is the standard offering

Well 5 yen is the standard for offerings but the person can give more if they are feeling generous.

It doesn't have to be 5 yen but it's part of Japanese superstition. If you just do a quick google search regarding it, the idea plays on the fact that saying 5 yen in Japanese can mean good fortune. Mind you, this was just me googling for a few seconds and absorbing the first relevant thing I saw. Here's a breakdown (supposedly):

五円 -> ごえん -> go-en -> "good fortune"

Of course, you can increase your offering by multiples of 10s to give the added effect of good fortune times x amount. Probably.

in my opinion, those "5yen"s are the proof that people are asking for Yato(gami)'s help (or in other words, praying to Yato) How much the money doesn't matter.

It depends on the environment the teenager has grown up in. Generally, in developed countries teenagers are more childish then the rest of the world.

I'm not referring to the age of the readers/viewers, I just mean the general vibe Yuki gives off reminds me of a jailbait character.

Well, Hiyori is only ~15, and Yuki looks a lot younger than her, that would make him physically about 12 at most...
