As for why he insisted Tania keep her identity secret, I suspect that, even if dragons aren't that well known, there may be a good chance at the least that some know of the dragons' tradition of sending teenagers out to train and test their strength. Heck, she still has an impulse to request sparring matches with random passersby. It seems obvious to me he wouldn't want her bragging about being a super-strong dragon. Sure, nothing may come of the realization, but if anyone around knows of their traditions it'd create an unnecessary risk. Not to mention that we know from what Kanade'd said that she'd draw a good deal of attention, which could also be a bad thing given that she's kind of a borderline criminal for her choice of training methods. |

I almost feel bad for the slimes that Tania's just flambéing alive. Although I guess that is more effective than fighting them hand-to-hand, which makes it difficult for Kanade. But it's something both girls can bond over !
I thought Rein could straight up fly with Tania's powers, but now he has enough power to use the old Beast Tamer trick of...transferring his conscious to an actual animal and controlling them!? At this point even the girls are getting sick of Rein writing off all the amazing stuff he does as "normal" for Beast Tamers . I love how Kanade just throws rocks at stuff . So it seems like what Rein actually got from Tania was a boost to his magic, which lets him cast stronger spells, and Tania is ready to go full strict teacher on him so he can master his newfound power ! I love how Tania is such a cute, haughty (yet not aggressive or unlikeable), tsundere . I was expecting we'd get to Rein's backstory eventually, and I like that the girls genuinely wanted to get to know him better, but it basically amounts to him being raised by Beast Tamers and having his village destroyed in the blink of an eye by monsters. Then he gets saved by adventurers who leave him at an inn that puts him to work and makes him sleep in squalor. Man, that kind of sucks. Whatever happened to the dog though ? The only nice thing the Hero's Party ever did for Rein was get him out of working in servitude and out in the world, even if they eventually just used him and kicked him out later. But it lead him to meet Kanade and Tania, so it worked out in the end. And the girls already want revenge against the Hero's Party ! Tania's overconfidence finally gets her into trouble against some Orcs and Rein takes a hit for her, which hurts even more than if she'd actually been hit because it means she endangered Rein. But seeing that Rein cares so much about her, even to risk serious injury on her behalf, makes her fall deeper and deeper in love with him. Of course she's a tsundere so she's not willing to admit it to herself yet :innnocent:. "What is this warmth in my chest..." The plot is focusing on Tania falling in love but I can't help but stare at her ample and exposed cleavage or her nightdress ! Rein is still struggling to get separate rooms for him and the girls (the inn lady seems to enjoy him having quality time with his Harem) but I'm just wondering when they'll buy the house . It was inevitable, but it's finally time for Rein to overcome his lingering trauma and face Arios and co. personally. We even have "vs" in the title. This is definitely not going to go the way the Hero's Party expects, especially with Tania and Kanade there .

I still wonder how the hell could the OP tamers of the village be so easily dispatched by a random monster squad. It's reasonable for a young guy like Rein to be inexperienced in militarizing the tamer skills, but for the whole village on his level to be so useless...
The adventurers, despite how they are presented, seem to be pretty nice people. They saved him and even provided him with a stable life. Not a good life, but stable and safe. I don't think it would be reasonable to expect anything more from them. This episode was pretty nice. Though I am not so sure a dragon's skin can be damaged by some rusty sword. Also, the orcs looked like ogres. |

Tania getting menaced by the orcs after holding a major bridge against groups of adventurers was so bad it was funny as well. The only thing this show has going for it is the girls. |

I want next week t come already so I can watch Rein destroy the Hero's party.
That's if he actually remembers he has super strength and magic now instead of taking one for the them like he did with that orc.

I was thinking that one of the main antagonist Rein will need to face is the one or group that destroyed his village. Since it was monsters that destroyed his village, maybe this antagonist is a monster tamer. Also, since there is a Hero in the series, there must be a demon lord counterpart. The monster tamer is probably a part of the demon lord army.

Fun episode. Honestly, I would've preferred if he'd shown a bit more contempt. Like, maybe laugh at them when they inadvertently admit that they're seeking his help with the very quest they were about to take when they dumped him. Seriously, can't even do ONE quest on their own!? How can you not laugh at the mighty hero's party?
Yeah, either Rein's going to supplant Arios as the true hero or he'll eventually beat some humility into him and turn him into someone at least slightly more worthy of his power. At the least I hope some of them eventually learn how low their high horse really is. |

Of course right when Rein is finally starting to move on from his emotional trauma and be happy...here arrives the Hero's Party to drag him back in .
I love how Rein at least knew well enough to just walk off to the side rather than even bother talking with them, of course the Hero's Party just couldn't leave well enough alone . I'm glad Rein didn't even considering going back to them. I mean, they're still insulting him even when they're trying to get him to come back to them! And it's clear they still see him as useless and little more than a gofer. The only way they're able to get Rein to consider it is by praying on his innate goodness and desire to prevent others from suffering as he did because they need a tool to stop the Demon Lord. Not that it means the Hero's Party deserves it . Of course Tania and Kanade aren't about to let the Hero's Party get off without a proper apology, and by apology, Tania means groveling on the ground and begging for his forgiveness. Unsurprisingly the Hero's Party is too arrogant to consider it, but Arios insulting his girls and calling them "pets" is enough to finally get Rein to deliver one of the most satisfying punches I have ever seen. And the fight we've all been waiting for can finally begin . It's Kanade vs the longsword guy! And she doesn't even take him seriously and just counters his strongest attacks like they're nothing. And she wasn't even using half her powers! It was so satisfying seeing Kanade kick this guy into submission . It's Tania vs the spellcasters! And the magician girls talk big about their powerful, English, spells and the power of God by their side...but Tania can easily undo their magic with a snap of her finger and when they've exhausted everything they have, unleash the true wrath of the heavens against them. Or she would if she wasn't just messing them, but that arguably wrecks them as much as any magic would . Rein vs Arios! Arios may be good with the sword and have some magic, but Rein has the abilities and battle instincts he's gained as a Beast Tamer and through contracting with Kanade and Tania, and in the end he defeats Arios as a Beast Tamer! Watching him beg for mercy and faint at a fake punch was everything ! So Rein's found emotional catharsis in defeating his old party, he has two lovely ladies running towards him, and he's in a much better state than he's ever been. What's next? It seems like the trio will be trekking through the Lost Woods to do the Hero's Party work for them. Now I feel the world has a better chance against the Demon Lord .

And with this is over for the hero's party and rein, I wonder if we will see them again?, I was hoping that at least the white and black mages would repent on some degree but after this I doubt it.
Loved how tania told them to grovel. |
