For me, the climax, the moment when my heart suddenly skipped a couple of beats, was the moment when L turned around,

Whew. Just spent the weekend watching 1-37 and I was blown away. Like all of you I didn't like the beginning of the N arc, but I think I know why. That is really the only area of the anime where light is floundering and doesn't know what to do. As much fun as it is to hate him, I think we all want to see him succeed too (which makes this difficult to watch).

I was actually completely satisfied with the end, and I really don't think they could have pulled it off any better. Light's sociopathic personality just erupts into something spectacular. The ONLY thing that upset me was that he called misa's name AND takada's name. If he had just called for Misa it would have been absolutely perfect. Calling out both of their names highlights light's selfishness again, whereas if he had just called for Misa I think it would have signified that he had a conscious (kind of) and felt bad for how he had treated her (may be :b).

Misa was my favorite character and I was sad to see her get pushed to the side towards the end.

All in all I have to give this one a 10/10. This has been like crack for the past 3 days, and my heart is still racing. Awesome!

My favorite part of the whole series is the insane "dynamic epic writing". I find it hilarious how writing in a notebook can be so glorified.

Perfect 10, because it was a great storyline, and a great ending. It didnt stray to far from the manga either. I liked the ending, and how they didnt milk the series:

I liked it until I realized nothing was happening and there was no character development. Mellow is the only interesting character and we know what happened with that. One of the more overrated shows.

It'd have probably gotten a good 10/10 from me if they hadnt done so much condensing to the second arc. To the point of making my favorite character (Mello) look like a side character. He had a volume and a half to his 'mafia arc' which was cut down to an episode and a half.

Shidoh did less in the anime than in the manga. And I wasnt too satasfied with the anime ending. It was absolutely epic till...it diverged.

The animation was good, though it had a few big drops from time to time. Voice acting was superb and it was highly enjoyable.

So 8/10 for me!

I loved the series and I kinda think that the Kira case would never come if Light just killed them with a reasonable description like the one with the bus hijacking.

I like how the storyline progress, it keeps getting better and better and the battle is epic. The music is pretty good especially the BG and the 1st OP. Unfortunately, I really dislike the second OP.

Great anime!I love the mystery and the note!
If i had the note i would do the same as Light but would not kill those who are looking for me!I think Light became kinda evil at the end!
Too much power got the best of him!!

Gotta love Light's evil grin!

Just finnished the anime myself, quite sad overall of the quality of the show, it started really good, and I after ep 26 it just turns nasty, personaly I would have liked that the show ended at ep 26 but no it didn't. It feelt draged out like they didn't want to end the show sadly.

What should I say ? The first 20 chapters are extremely interesting: suspension-building, thrills and breath-taking! But as the story progresses, it loses its grasp on the readers as the author was prolonging it....
