Really? I thought, since the sun rises at 5am (in Japan anw) and schools start at 6.....

Japanese school starts at like 8 AM not 6 AM. Where did you get that idea? Sunrise IS early there though, because they don't do daylight savings or summer time. But not at this time of year.

Having looked at some Tsukiyo Rui works before, like The World's Finest Assassin and Dungeon Builder: The Demon King's Labyrinth is a Modern City, it's interesting the publishers would choose to adapt the author's darkest, edgiest work so far.

And even then, Kaifuku feels more like a writing experiment to push their creative limits; considering the author's wide thematic range from light-hearted to fairly dark.

afaik 4 AM actually is "early morning" and not "late night" in most of South East Asian countries (so the tropical ones). I know for a fact that I used to attend school at 6 AM. And while most companies starts at around 8-9 AM, the sheer traffic time in some cities makes it more common for people there to start commuting much early. In fact, this early morning culture actually caused me a dissonance long ago when I started watching anime and was jealous of all hell when I found out school in Japan starts so late.

This show is kinda funny even though the plot is complete trash (I read the manga)

Shiokonbu's talents are a bit wasted given his potential, his artworks for the manga are top-tier. Hope he gets more projects in the future.

Oh, I stand corrected then. Tertiary institutions are usually 8 or later but I assumed high school and below was at daybreak like in most of East Asia (?)

And nah, even now the winter sun rises so early.....Much more early then I'm used to back in SEA anyway

Good lord I feel sorry for kids in SEA then. It must be a tropical thing. But sunset and sunrise can vary a lot (by longitude) within time zones too... I've actually heard people from places farther west in Japan complain it gets dark too early in winter in Tokyo. Its definitely 15ish minutes earlier than where I am in the US.

Anyway I finally saw the uncensored version and it was fun but somewhat underwhelming. Seems like we'll get to the 'good' stuff next week.

Shiokonbu isn't drawing the manga tho.

BD will feature even less censorship and cut scenes IIRC

I should've just said artworks with him being the character designer but that could have confused the anime-only watchers

Some of his works.

Are you talking about homosexual scenes? I remember I saw something like this being commented on 4chan, but honestly it is quite difficult to know what is true there.

Preferably, i would like a more detailed content of the daily sex activity of the MC with those Maid's, like a Nichijou (they could easily make 2-3, 24 minute OVA's with MC just having sex with those Castle Maid's).

*mod snip*

The author of the novel wrote on his twitter that the "real" thing starts in the next episode. Whether it's a desperate attempt to attract attention or just a sincere warning of concern, we'll only know next week.

Like everyone else commented beforehand, for the time being this is the LN author's current work and the first one at being dark, edgy, and unforgiving.

In fact, the first episode of the anime clearly hinted at the dark crap Keyarl faced in the previous timeline for the appetitizer. The real show starts from the second episode and onwards, and it's going to get mind-f****d the more Keyarl walks down his path of personal, dark vendetta.

Unfortunately, I haven't read the light novel but have read up to the 31st chapter of the manga adaptation, and I can testify that Keyarl will grow more and more in both maliciousness, pragmatism, scheming, and strategizing. Nevertheless, he can dispense mercy to those who truly deserve it or in need as well.
For example, based on his experiences in the former timeline, in the current one the swormaster, Kureha, whose right-arm he healed again, is the only person in the entire Kingdom of Jioral that actually treated Keyaru with gratitude and kindness.

And, there's the ending delivering clear hints at future episodes for reference as to who are going to become members of Keyaru's party.

Regarding some of the earlier comments... please keep in mind that, regardless of what the anime ends up showing, please keep the contents of the discussion on this forum PG-13...

Episode 2 subs are out. Well that was tough to watch. Pretty sure Keyaru will think about who to trust and not trust. As expected, it's another dark episode...

Spoiler for ep 2:

Yeah, this week twitter breaks, lol.

I didn't think this scene would appear.

I wait for the uncensored version, I saw some comments that may be something more "heavy" than what happened in Ishozuku reviwers.

I kinda tried watching the censored version but there's huge chunks of minutes completely missing on top of blacked out screens. I'll try again later when the uncensored version is out.
