Well, I've been trying my hand at .gifs lately, I was able to make this: from: I placed three different frames for the tail then tweened each one without opacity. Made in Adobe ImageReady. A big thanks to all the tutorials here at A.Suki

I know too well what you mean when you say you cant stop making these.Tracing/Vectoring can be quite addictive to some. The Rena one here is my sentimental favorite; It was the vector that got me interested in this after all.

Being a big fan of your works in the Nanoha section, I must say your other works are still quite impressive, from the colors and shadings to the details (especially impressed with Over the Rainbow, with the nice mix of blur effects giving it that much needed... uhm "dreamy" quality

Thanks^^
ps. I'll definitely make more Nanoha walls in the future, especially from StrikerS. Just need to look for something to work on... Quote:
If it's a complete scan that doesn't require any re-drawing, I could finish it in a few hours. If it's a very small image that requires detail and re-drawing, it could take weeks, and if i'm feeling lazy, a little over a month. There are other factors like how big is the image you're tracing. If it's a full body vector or just a close-up of the face.

Always been a great fan of all of your works, so I'm glad you opened a thread because this way it's easier to keep a trace of them and even make comparisons - I think your style has grown up a lot throughout this time.
A good number of them have been my wallpapers, though my undoubt favourite is that of Rena. I was totally in love with Higurashi on that period so that wallpaper (both the dark both the white version) stayed up a lot on my pc. Lately I've ben using also the one of Kaede. And I remember that one of Anju. It was your first I think, right? Also congrats for the last of Nagisa and Shizuma (and for Gin+Shinku), I hope to see other masterpieces from you soon ^^

Wow, 'sol. I see you have definitely improved a whole freaking lot. Your stuff was good the last time I checked, it's so freaking awesome now.
And I'll definitely have that Suigintou/Shinku wallpaper on my desktop this instant. Thanks so much for it

New Work in Progress!
I was a little reluctant at first, since I wasn't sure if it was possible to vector such a tiny screencap, and to add to that - trying to imitate Naru Nanao's artstyle. Anyway,... so far so good..

Thanks, you've just saved my day.
I'll try and make a more formal guide soon, but for now, this will have to do: How to use shape layers: With shape layers you can keep all your pen paths in one layer so it's easier to organize^^ Is there any specific part you don't understand? First set your pen to shapes Then draw anything on the canvas. (or just place a point to open up a shape-layer) Then click on the vector mask thumbnail: Then change the pen setting back to paths: Then click the vector mask again Then start tracing with your pen^^ all the lines will remain in the shape layer^^

Here's how I make my eyes, (really crappy tutorial again, please bear w/ it for now)
Before we begin.. It is assumed you have basic knowledge of vectoring and what it is. We will make a basic eye vector, using only the Pen tool Shape-Layers 1 > original pic should be at the very top 2 > start with the black outline of the eye. 3 > Then 'under' the outline layer, fill in the most dominant color. 4 > Continue with the next color. 5 > Then do the same with any other 'eye effects' included in your original. Paying attention the where your layers should be placed. In this case, over the Eye color layers. 6 > Finish up by making the base. (The white of the eye). Under all the other layers Once you have this, you can enhance it even more, by rasaterizing the layer then utilizing Blur, Dodge, and Burn. + playing with opacity and blending modes. btw, put this all in one group for organization. (the little icon that looks like a folder) Then continue w/ the rest of the image. Final:
