To me, it's not that Sera's appearance that's bad. It's just her attitude is pretty much crap.

While the novel (current events, volume 8 onwards) has her JUST starting to be tsun, we hardly get any hints in the anime. And, it's not even she's denying but rather being outright mean. THe only thing we ever saw her being flustered was when she donned the cat ears. In the manga, I had a small tinge of pity for Sera after she had been exiled from the vampire ninja clan, and she completely broke down, in which Ayumu comforted her.

^ ... I need to know which chapters I should look for this... also, I'd be thinking that I know where you read...

EDIT: I guess I know where that part is now... though sad thing is, I can't really read Chinese...

Weird, I didn't feel bad for Sera at all.

Well, she's kinda cute, though here -dere time is too short, like, a few lines? Personally, I like Saras better.

I have not read the novel yet, but in the anime Sera looks and behaves like an abandoned cat with a brand new master most of the time

I watched the first series for the character design that I like (Kobuichi/Muririn) but the story works both as a funny and dark (yeah only for action/drama parts) series !
