Not to rain on anyone's parade but why not Akagi instead? I couldn't get into Kaiji (only watched like 7 episodes before I gave up), but Akagi was sooooooo badass compared to Kaiji.

Last time I checked, Akagi was still stuck inside Washizu's mansion (He's been there for more than ten years of serialization, which equals to more than 10 volumes). So, it's impossible to make a sequel right now since it wouldn't go anywhere.

I'd love to see a Ten anime though. Old Akagi was still badass as hell. And the ending was simply stunning.

You think charging up a Spirit Bomb takes a long time? Well you haven't seen a mahjong match before then.

^ Nah, you get used to it. Hell, I even came to love them pointy noses.

Besides, Fukumoto's storytelling is so compelling that you quickly forget about such trifles. That man can make ANY game fascinating.

I was wondering what the hell happened... 10 years, good god! The publisher must have balls of steel.

Ah, I can't wait. I've been pumped and ever-impatient for this since I finished the series while it was airing. The releases were the highlights of the week when it aired, without a shred of doubt one of the best series in recent years.

If the second season is even half as good, it'll be a pure joy.

Kaiji has too many plotholes and dragged on for so long to be taken seriously. The character designs are excellent though. And 20+ volumes for a showdown with pachinko machines? Come on.

so i take it from the scan that he reattached his ear and fingers. So this doesn't deal with Hyoudou anymore? When i first saw it the character designs annoyed me, but then it grew on me and i actually liked it in the end.
