Hello all. I just got back from a convention and I was able to grab all of the Higurashi visual novels for a great price. Where can I download English patches for them? I know about the patches made by the Sonozaki sisters but I can't seem to find any others.
Also yes, I know about the MangaGamer releases of the English versions but I was able to get all 3 discs for under $40 so I went ahead and bought 'em. |

There is no more (full) english patches, there is a patch that translates a bit of minagoroshi-hen and a patch that translates saikoroshi-hen but thats it. If you aren't someone who likes to collect things you probably wasted you're money.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but this is too big to ignore:
The VN has been ported to the iPhone, and appears to be avaliable in the US iTunes Store as well (All in-game text is Japanese only). First chapter (Onikakushi-hen) is free, others are bought in-App. http://itunes.apple.com/au/app/higur...366267383?mt=8

Something we've all been waiting for:
http://www.mangagamer.com/allages/Ti...ai-minagoroshi Quick release at May 31st. I hope that they've kept up the awesome translations like they did with Meakashi and Tsumihoroboshi. |

A small update on the French version again:
The demo is being processed by 07th Expansion. I expect the green light to come pretty soon. Also, Arcs 3 and 4 went on sale and sold out - the newly pressed games will hit the stores (tentatively) on July 1st. |

MangaGamer to offer Physical copies of Higurashi at Anime Expo
Will include the first 4 arcs, all on one disc, just like the Japanese Himatsubushi disc and the version they're selling digitally. Source: http://mangagamer.wordpress.com/2010...ime-expo-2010/ |

Those who have played the answer arcs... Do you recommend buying them from MangaGamer? I heard the translation for the first four was, while accurate, quite filled with grammar errors and general problems, plus the removed BGM, so I didn't buy them. However, I'm curious as to how the answer arcs are fairing.
Also, is it possible just to buy the latest and have all of them, like Himatsubushi-hen from Japan or the Umineko games? |

if you don't understand Japanese (or French) you don't really have choice to go with the mangagamer edition. The mangagamer version might have grammar errors, some weird translation, lack some original aspect of the original VN, but the story is all there and understandable. |
