Monster Musume no Oisha-san (Monster Girl Doctor)
Monster Musume no Oisha-san got an anime key visual recently. It seems this is getting an anime adaptation based on the novels. Plot Quote:

Didn't expect this one. Personally I am very fond of this novel. Saphee being best anime lamia helps a lot too. Monster girl medicine is also pretty cool aspect.
Though summary is rather inaccurate as neither centaurs or mermaids medical issues are directly related to injuries.

Author apparently said Monmusu was his greatest influence in writing the LNs.
Fun fact - the LN illustrations are by H-artist z-ton, who also does some monstergirl porn at times. https://www.mangaupdates.com/authors.html?id=22390 Plus manga version artist is Kanemaki Thomas, also another H-artist who specializes in monstergirl porn. https://www.mangaupdates.com/authors.html?id=13342 |

Yeah, this does look like an interesting take on the monster girl genre (like what if monster anatomy was applied to medical science instead of sex?) .
Did the snake girl make mention of "rivals?" I see where this is going .

I initially blew this off thinking it was a copy of the more well known Monster Musume series, but having actually read some of the manga I have been pleasantly surprised.
The monster girl designs are better, the setting works better and the plot is better (including that there seems to be one in the first place). |

This popped up on Crunchyroll this morning, so I watched it.
It wasn't awful...? Actually I quite liked it so will definitely give it a few more episodes. Though after the start of the first episode decided it prudent to turn the volume down a click or two. Saphee is the best, obvs. |

Spoiler for Episode 1:
Side comment: I LOVE the X emblem used by Glenn and Sapphee to identify their profession. It looks like two pieces of bandages plastered on top of each other, which subtly implies what they do to their clients.

This episode worked pretty nice Animation wasn't cheap (well neither awesome), bgm was very nice too. It did novel justice.
Though I would prefer if they didn't go with "(as you know) we are childhood friend" speach. That was pretty clumsy and we would learn about it anyway later. While this show has some very interesting monster girl science is very interesting (I don't think you will be disappointed in that regard), when it come sensitity it unfortunately chose to go in more fanservice direction., then is realistic...

Uh, how should I say this....episode 1 doesn't impress me at all. I think it's just okay if not a bit lackluster. So far, characters are mediocre, the MC is bland, the story doesn't have much meat to it, music is so-so and the animation is passable at best. I really hope future episodes will add much more oomph & quality than this.
Since the MC is a doctor, I'm not gonna compare this show to Monmusu. Instead, a better comparison would be with Demi-chan where the MC is also a professional who tries & works hard to understand the monster girls and help solve their problems. Compared to Demi, this first episode felt much more shallow since most (if not all) of the health check-ups done by the MC is a poor excuse for fanservice (grabbing tits & ear-checking resulted in girls moaning, and of course the hoove-trimming made the centaur-girl blushed, flustered & screamed, and don't forget the obligatory bondage & gagging by the snake lady). All of them are obviously meant to be otaku-pandering fanservice which made me disappointed since I see potential in the premise. In contrast, Demi-chan explored & executed its premise beautifully without relying so much on blatant fanservice. Is this show going to be yet another harem ecchi? Is this bland first episode a good representation of the whole show in general? If the answers to both of them are "yes" then I might have to bail out from this.
