Best girl.....is not the term I’d use for her given her............violent nature which dwarfs many other violent tsunderes in how stupid a reason she’ll beat up Yaichi for (it’s honestly amazing how these MCs can get around the violent beatings they endure and confess like this, I like tsunderes but things like this are ridiculous), but she’s my top pick as far as this title is concerned simply because of non-jailbait. The others are just a little too loli.

Now if she’ll take this opportunity to finally stop beating up Yaichi for stupid things or obvious misunderstandings, that would massively upgrade her approval rating in my book.

On the other hand I’m going to hold back a little and keep my eyes open for the red herring. Not because I actually think the author is going to fake us out with this, but because sometimes you just never know.

How strong is Yaichi as of current volume? Is there anyone stronger than him or close to his level?

Determining who is stronger in shogi is difficult, but from what I've seen Yaichi should be one of the Top 5. I'm more interested in how strong Ai is now. It's obvious Ginko will be the final boss for Ai but it's going to be very difficult now that Ginko has awakened into one of the shogi aliens. Ai is now stronger than before but she still would have difficulty against pre-awakened Ginko.

People arguing over becoming a lolicon or going for the abusive Tsundere. Both trash options and the worst part is they're the most likely to happen. If he just gets with Machi, Ryou or Keika we wouldn't have to deal with jail or crazy, but they're just side girls and not real options.

Yashajin ai is best option but thats clearly never gonna happen so ginko is the best compromise :/

He chose Keika early but was rejected, she only sees him as a kid

He didn't "marry" Ai. He just took her in as a disciple, with an agreement that he would marry her if she fails to win a title before graduating junior high. Considering Ginko has two titles and is still in junior high, I'd say it's doable. Especially considering that she's already able to push Ginko hard enough to force her to get serious when she's at the top of her game. She decayed a bit afterward until Yaichi got her a rival, but given that at the time she only had a few months' experience, she could definitely steal at least one title.

That was at volume 6 I think when the series was supposed to end.
Series became popular and the author decides to keep publishing his work.

It is said to be the finale of the 3-dan League arc, so I'm guessing Ginko will become a pro at the end of the volume.

It also says Yaichi will face the strongest enemy in order to obtain a new title, which I'm guessing he will face Okito in the Tei'i title matches.
