I'm actually very curious if the author was serious with that title of the manga and if he was being literal about it.

It's not just the title of the manga. Keep in mind what the God of Love told Rentarou. He has 100 soulmates because of having been rejected 100 times, and any girl that can't be with him out of those 100 will die. So it's going to go that route and we'll see all 100 girlfriends unless the manga gets canceled.

Doesn't he have 100 soul mates cause God was watching tv and screwed up

The title is definitely meant to be literal, there Is always the chance the author will di a retcon or just shows the last girlfriends in a montage panel in the last chapter. If he really manages to put all 100s of them in the story he will forever have my respect.

Isn't it both? It's also something like compensation for the 100 rejections, though the God of Love did screw up as well.

And yeah, I don't want some copout like 1 soulmate = 10 average soulmates.
