If you want to discuss all the gory details of this series, related series, and the Fate portion of the Nasuverse, feel free. There's a thread for that, and it's not this one. Spoiling the noobs so you can discuss it here is not okay. And saying something isn't a spoiler because reasons doesn't keep it from being a spoiler. It's real simple. If you, who know what happens, talk about it, it's a spoiler. Period, end of story. If someone who legitimately has no reason to know it (never saw the original series, or played the game, or visited the wiki, etc.) comes up with it, that's different. But it's surprisingly easy to tell when that's being faked, too. By "you" in the last two paragraphs, I mean the guy GreyZone was responding to. The one who posted the totally not spoilers. I know that can sometimes be unclear on the internet.

You know what, I was wondering why the episode felt like it packed a whole lot in it and yet didn't feel rushed. I didn't even realize that the episode's running time had been doubled until you said something.

Dang... I heard that most of monologues were cut out but I was wrong.
Sure he doesn't outright say voice them in his head or otherwise, but the camera angles, body language and basically cinematography all conveyed them. In ufotable's fanboying enhancing we trust. Wow... I have to say this was better than Episode 0. Sure it didn't get to the plot as fast as Ep 0 did and it didn't show outright complex characterization like Ep 0 did, but characterization wise, it was hella better and stronger here. I just realized that people tend to forget that not all characterization and character development happens in critical situations or when someone monologues it clearly to the audience. It can happen just as effective and well in Slice-of-Life scenes or natural everyday dialogue. ufotable proving once again that they're an awesome studio. |

the fighting scene is awesome as always. can't wait for next episode vs Berserker. Never thought they make another 48 min, next week onward back to 24min then will be not enough!.
as always, Sakura such a good girl but but haihz... Btw, too much "senpai" from her kind of annoying sometime. need more Rin (her voice ) and Saber!

I liked the opening and the ending, but the songs are a bit generic-sound (generic kalafina and generic J-pop). The episode was nice, I was concerned about how ufotable will animate and characterize Shirou (after the Deen disaster) but he seems pretty great so far. Good.

The first half was slow since it covers the events from episode 0 from Shirou's perspective and he lacks the personality that made Tohsaka more enjoyable to follow.
BGM was kind of lackluster as well, but that's to be expected since Yuki Kajiura is no longer composing for the show. Other than those minor gripes, I really enjoyed episode. We get more of a flesh out for Shirou's character that was sorely missing from DEEN's adaptation.
