Zombies

Hey I was just wondering if anyone knew about any good zombie-based animes?

Zombies are considered weak underlings of vampires in anime. The most straight story about zombies is actually the Resident Evil anime movie. Anyway, you can watch Gungrave, Vampire Hunter D, Hellsing or Gai Rei Zero for a taste.

And if you don't hate retro cartoons, there is Skeleton Warriors.

G Gundam - Devil Gundam's Death Army (a mecha army piloted by zombies ).
Shaman King - Faust VIII
One Piece - Thriller Bark arc
Zombie Loan
Red Garden
Le Chevalier D`Eon - probably the closest you can find to real zombie action.

Honestly, just go read Highschool of the Dead, that's the closest you are going to get to a true zombie story. Or, even better, go watch the live action film Wild Zero .

The other two before me have narrowed down the best choices for what specifically has been asked of. All I can suggest is Shikabane Hime for this one.

Sorry, I know many don't like fanfiction, but all I can think of when I see anime and zombies in the same sentence is this crack fic:

Ah My Goddess meets Zombie Apocalypse

It's actually rather well written. It also includes Calvin Ball, and parodies of Mad Max. (With Sayoko as Autie Em).

The first episode of Tokyo Majin, as stated, really is the best place to see Zombies in anime. The first episode of Mnemosyne had them too, to a lesser extent. unfortunately there's not much to offer for anime zombies.

No problem! I'm a HUGE fan of zombies and I'm doing a favour as a zombie fan! ^_^

Have you watched George A. Romero's zombie movies? This guy re-invented modern zombie movies!
