A wizard GN Particles Lacus Dust did these.

And when I looked at the pic of a younger Noin, I thought that she was Hilde.

Wait the Sagittariuses and Centaur, are those new weapons created after Wing ends, or during the series?

Um reread what the descriptions say. The ships are from After Colony 186.

As for no Gundams. The Gihren manga had no Gundam in it. Personally I think the lack of Gundams in the series poses more of a problem for the G-team and fits the world situation better.

So why do people fight, anyway?
Perhaps the meaning of existence lies within their will to fight.
People feel a sense of accomplishment through battle.
And it’s also a fact that the ones actually fighting are never perceived as being tainted.

Maybe no Gundams- but did it have mobile suits/armors?

I agree somewhat in that it does fit the situation as stated post EW, but seeing as Sumisawa is completely flipping everything upside down and committing mass character assassination left and right, I kinda see a Gundam or two showing up anyway.

Keeping in mind that he quit the show halfway through, I wonder if the second half of the series+EW didn't go as he had planned it, and now he's taking it upon himself to set things how he wanted them. I kinda wish Ikeda was still here to reign him in, if that's the case...

He had complete free reign over the EW manga adaptation and that turned out basically the same if not more optimistic...

Also, there's Preventer 5 which shows his post-EW vision. He left that thing hanging.

Edit: Thanks for translating, Deacon! Found another summary:
http://recluse.blog60.fc2.com/blog-entry-907.html

There's mention of Clark's mother?

I agree. And with the way the story is shaping up, there may not be need for Gundams.

Hi all, I've been following this thread a while but only recently decided to join the forum to come into the discussion.

I have to be honest, as much as I always felt partial to the 1XR pairing I just keep laughing and picture this bit of discourse between an unfrozen Heero and the others:

"....now I know there was something I kept forgetting to do before I was frozen"
"Your mission is to kill Relena"
"AHA! Thats it! Thats the nail right on the head, I was starting to wonder why my shopping list had bread, milk, eggs and a variety of sharp objects on it!"

On another note I am kind of interested to see that if this new crisis includes new mobile weapons, What will they look like? If the designs would be similar to other Gundam series (like with what C.E. did with U.C. suits) or if they will be a bit more revolutionary in appearance/function.

My only issue so far is that the epilogue for Endless Waltz said that mobile suits were never seen again.

Holy balls people it's called a retcon.

(It's also called Bandai wants more money.)

Anyway, I could also see the 'no new MS' thing if only because a novel isn't exactly the greatest venue in which to introduce a new set of flashy, visually-strong technology like Gundams... but then, thinking to some of the other Gundam novels, they also introduced new technologies, so I'm not sure if that would really be a valid reason or not. That said, maybe thinking up and designing new tech just isn't one of Sumisawa's strong points- in that case I could see a lack of new MS tech. In other words, I'm thinking of this more from the out-of-universe aspect than the in-universe one.

I'm just skeptical considering it was explicitly stated before publication (in the interview along with the epilogue perhaps? I forget exactly where), that they were hoping to get new modelkits out of the serialization.

EDIT: Hey Deacon, you said you released your translation, right? Could you toss a link? Unless it's posted here already and I've somehow missed it...

I'm fully aware of what a retcon is, but I like consistency.

If they ever did retcon the ending of the Wing series, and another war erupts or whatever. I sure as hell wouldn't mind.

The ending didn't say that war ended, so that's fine. It just said that mobile suits weren't used again.

Thus meaning war ended, right? No mobile suits, no war.

You ever hear of long-range missile strikes, carpet bombing, and black ops?

That's not the way wars are fought in the Gundam series.

IIRC the ending said that humanity never gave up fighting, so wars will still be fought. Trieze and Zechs and the like were right in the fact that humans can't give up fighting.

More importantly, mobile suits look human, so people in AC have this mental association of humans doing everything they can to destroy one-another, rather than mindless machines wreaking havoc. If it's just mindless machines being used humans can create the illusion that all that is happening far away. It's basically the very situation Treize wanted to prevent: the depersonalization of war.

Actually, while correct in saying that Treize was trying to prevent the depersonalization of war, isn't that concept about mobile suits why he loved them so much? It was the idea of simply pressing a button and winning a battle through a mass-destruction weapon and such that he despised. Humans fighting directly with one another, using armor and mobile weapons is what he wanted to keep about war, because it kept it real among the people so they didn't treat it like a game.
