In terms of effective fighting forces, 1 Kryptonian equals an entire army (if not more). As Stark said in a similar discussion with Loki, "We've got a Hulk.", and the same is true with any Kryptonian (some more than others).

Not really. He did have the military and Professor Hamilton drop a Phantom Zone bomb on the enemy. Not Superheroes, but still more than Hawkeye did.
When talking terms of conquering, yes. But when one thinks of being "invaded", they generally think of being swarmed by the enemy. Zod was more like a single ninja infiltrating the enemy. |

For Superman, whose power is comparable to Thor and Hulk, and the US military their operation took place in India AND metropolis, both on other sides of the world and they were up against a group whose power is also comparable to both Hulk and Thor. The world engines were literally WMDs to begin with. That and the entire US team involved in the operation was pretty much killed and gave their lives to stop the world engine. The Avengers had it a lot easier than Superman. Different circumstances for each one. |

Watched the movie and it was a really good film! I love the DC comics universe and this movie doesn't disappoint me at all. The only problem is that there are too much action.
But well the movie really moves me a lot, especially Clark's flashback. The music of Hans Zimmer was great in these moments. And i was really amazed by fight scenes, especially Faora-UL VS Superman . By the way, Faora-Ul was so cool: "You will not win. For every human that you save, we will kill a million more. " So badass.

People hating on the action; this is the best action I've seen since the Matrix, as in, its that much above par. I really, really liked this movie, specifically because people died, and everything didn't go according to plan. I didn't like that the fight between Zod and Supah-man wasn't in the build up to the story's climax, but the fact that
Spoiler for zod the badass:
They say there are gonna be sequels right? I know a lot of people want to see Darkseid, and he's definitely my no.1 choice as well. However, if the action sequences in this movie, the dark(er) and hectic pace, and just the large amount of action, I think Doomsday would make an equally good villain for the next film. It would be awesome if he wasn't just physically super evolved, but also mentally super evolved (although I don't think thats anywhere in the comics). Either way, super man has some of the most, badass villains in comic books (too bad venom was shit in spiderman, and we never got to see carnage), and if the next movie is in the same vein as this one, I think it'll be great. All in all good, solid superhero movie. Probably the action movie of the summer. I'm really surprised by how negative the reviews were for it. |

Eh, I know at least one super hero movie that sort of had a bad guy victory.
Spoiler for name of movie and ending details:
