Also, I've put a temporary plug on the Syn/Vivio/Laguna fic I've been writing and joined Tk in his hideout. Considering I am writing them when they are twelve, and there is an incoming manga that takes place in the exact same time, I'm waiting for delicious canon source before I carry on.

Working on some Alistina stuff instead.

I've been specifically saving up for this time period since Christmas since a bunch of stuff I wanted was dropping. DoWII, FEAR 2, Halo Wars, EndWar on PC, HAWX in like two days. It's been a fun two or so weeks for me in gaming.

I'm in my hideout due more to lack of time and laziness then fear of the Ion Canon.

My stuff is set like a year or so post strikers and wraps up within a few months. (SSX was a bigger threat, but having had some time to review I haven't seen much of anything that screwed me really.) So if Nanoha is 25 in this, I have very little to worry about, aside from possibly having new ideas for the future stuck in my head.

My other on again off again sometimes project right now is Felix/Pixy/Chiper/Alan backstory stuff set ten years BEFORE Strikers and without a CC in sight so that's safe too. Skirting canon rather then diving into or screwing it over has it's upsides.

Reasons matter not. your hideout is snug, hidden, and filled with games. I'm comfortable here. :3 As for writing, to each his own. I prefer diving into canon, but I have my backups to fall back to. Alistina is set several centuries before StrikerS, so unless Nanoha starts to dive into the Ancient Belka period, that's pretty much safe.

How many cartridges can Artherion hold by StrikerS?
Does Artherion has an alternative hi-performance mode like Raising Heart's Exceed mode in StrikerS?
Does Keroko-chan's Barrier Jacket stay the same in any mode outside of Etherial form (StrikerS)?

I'm still writing, if only at a snail's pace right now.

I'd appreciate the info since I do have scenarios of her in battle for my fics as well.

1. 5, all set in a clip. When Artherion runs out of cartridges, the empty clip is ejected with a loud 'ping!' The upside of this is that it allows for really fast reloading. the downside is that there is no mid-battle quick reload, as it would take more time to fit in a few cartridges in the clip then simply replacing the clip altogether. Smart enemies may also realize that the ping is a clear sign she's out of ammo (something Tesla was the first to take advantage off).
2. No. Ethereal form is his highest performance mode. Much time has been spend trying to improve on it in order to make Ethereal Mode safer to use, but only marginal success has been made.
3. Yes, though she did change Barrier Jackets between A's and StrikerS. If I were to pin-point an example of her pre-StrikerS jacket... it would have been akin to a Keroko-colored Aggressor Mode. Short skirt, no armor plates, more magical girl-like. After she switched to Interceptor Mode, she never looked back.

And Tempy? Selvaria isn't exactly my character to begin with, so by all means, feel free to use her.

M1 Garand! Me favorite rifle of WWII. Heh, it does give me a smile to see this sort of feature used.

Oh I know that. And playing through Valkyria Chronicles only gave me more and more inspiration for her. Also, hatred for the Ruhm. Goddamn that thing is scary. The PM was more of "would YOU like to know more of what I'm doing?"

Going through Dragonblight and questing around the Burning Steppes on my DK all over again refreshed my memory of the black reptiles and I felt I was finally ready to work on something appropiate. I'm still beating things out though, and I still have to compare with the source material lest I run off on a tangent again.

It's mainly about the link between Keroko and Artherion of Black Reach. (Sorry I have to be a bit cryptic in this stage.)

I anticipate a explosion of VC stuff as next season sees it debut as an anime.

After 12 weeks straight of training the new recruits with Nanoha and Keroko alternately, the new recruits were ready and have begun to be dispersed out to various missions and assignments, while Lightning and Blitz were recalled for a nice long break before heading back out into the field. The first thing she had done was sleep in for almost an entire day, and then spent whatever daylight she had left just mulling around the base, dinner, and then went back to bed. This morning, she had called up Evangeline and asked if she wanted to got out and have a coffee with her. After a little persuasion, Evangeline eventually relented and agreed to meet at a coffee shop she knew of. A bit nervous, Rue took a few deep breaths and adjusted the strap of her sundress a bit. Creamy white in colour, the dress didn’t have much of the ways in defining features. It was moderately low cut to show a bit of cleavage, with spaghetti straps hanging off her shoulders, leaving her shoulders and upper back bare. It was also one of her favourite dresses, especially since it had been gift from her mother; one that she took good care of. Dusting the hem of her dress, which stopped at knee level, she looked around to see if Evangeline was anywhere to be seen. At present, she was starting to wonder if showing up early had been a bad idea. “Hey,” a voice suddenly greeted from behind, drawing Rue’s attention as she came to face to face with Evangeline. “Did you wait long?” “Not really,” she answered, noting Evangeline was wearing that sundress again, eliciting a minor blush from her. Ethereal radiance came to mind as she looked over Evangeline. The way the upper part of the dress hugged her body and how the skirt just seemed to dance around her, ethereal radiance seemed to be the appropriate words in her mind; especially in that dress. “Is something wrong?” she suddenly asked. “You’re a bit red.” “It’s nothing, it’s nothing!” Rue exclaimed feeling like a deer caught in the headlights, realizing that she had been starting for a while. “If you say so,” Evangeline relented, and turned to enter the shop. However, she came to a sudden stop and started sniffing the air. “Do you smell that?” “What smell?” Rue asked back before smelling as well, only to redden further when she realized what it was. Her blush intensified more when she saw that Evangeline was starting to physically react positively towards what they smelt. “What is this?” Evangeline asked, touching her cheek to feel it very warm. “Rue?” The tone of her voice indicating she could see that Rue knew what was going on, especially since she was using a much more stricter and formal voice than before. “Well…you see…” “Best not lie to me,” Evangeline added. “SaSword can detect the smell as well, and could probably answer the question just as well. However, I’d like to think there’s a reasonable explanation.” Rue gulped when she saw the purple scorpion crawl over Evangeline’s shoulder, while Kabuto landed comfortably her own head, providing whatever small comfort it could. “Trust me, there is…” Rue nervously answered, trying to piece together everything that she would have to say. “How about we go inside and sit down first?” she offered, hoping to at least move the discussion somewhere a bit more private. Seeing her nod in acceptance, they made their way inside and placed their orders, before finding a quiet secluded booth, away from prying ears and eyes at Rue’s insistence, and apparent embarrassment. Settling down, she took a few deep breaths as she worked up the courage to talk. “First of all…what exactly do you smell?” Sniffing the air again, Evangeline took a moment to think about it before she answered, feeling herself blush a bit strangely. “It’s sweet…a bit spicy even.” “Umm…what about physically?” she asked. “What do you feel as you smell it?” “My heart seems to beat faster,” she answered after a moment. “And…I think I’m blushing…” “I see,” Rue sighed, taking a sip of her coffee. It was as she thought. “Although…you aren’t supposed to smell that…not till much later…if even…” “Excuse me?” “Well…I’m not Mid-Childan,” Rue pointed out, “I’m Latnedian. Although our physiology for the most part is exactly like a Mid-Childan, we do have a bit of a difference in some of our sexual organs and…how we mate… “We…give off pheromones to express how we feel,” she elaborated, seeing the confused on Evangeline’s face. “Our anger, our sadness, our happiness, our emotions in general; we often express it through our pheromones. However, normally only people of my race can smell it. However, certain pheromones we can share with others not of my race, but it would require a DNA sample of the person who we would want to smell it, specifically through physical contact.” Evangeline’s eyebrows knitted together as she tried to understand what was being said, and seeing if there was any actual incidences where they would’ve come into physical contact with one another when the memory suddenly hit her. “Wait…you don’t mean…” “Yeah,” she answered, confirmed Evangeline’s suspicion. “The day I used Kabuto the first time, after you caught me as I fainted was when we came into contact somehow. Our bodies have a unique ability to memorize DNA and have the person of that DNA smell certain pheromones. In this case…you smell my attraction towards you…” “Attraction? What are you…” she began before trailing off when she realized what Rue was implying. “Rue…you can’t possibly mean…” Rue nodded. “I do…apparently.” Taking few sips, she took a moment to gather her thoughts before continuing. “For us…it’s always subconscious at first. We just find something about a person that we like, which can be anything, like the way they look, their personality, a quirk about them, etc, and we start to emit that smell. If it’s reciprocated amongst us, they start giving off that smell as well. That’s how most relations start. If not, they give out a counter pheromone to neutralize it. That’s of course a rejection in the sense that the feelings aren’t mutual. Outright rejection I won’t get into.” “But…what about those who are not Latnedians?” Evangeline asked. “Like me?” “Normally…they won’t notice,” said Rue, taking another sip. “We are careful not to let anyone we come into contact with know what they’re smelling…unless we choose to. But…they will smell it if the scent is encoded with their DNA, and will react like any person would when they are in the presence, or think about their crush, race depending, providing that it’s a positive reaction…” Evangeline sighed somewhat and averted her eyes as her mind understood the implications of Rue’s words. “I…I see…” “We don’t have to act on it,” Rue suddenly added, feeling the burn from ear to ear. “We could…just be friends. See…if just being with each other on a friendly basis works out…and work from there…” The two stared at one another for a few minutes as Evangeline contemplated her options. The fact that someone was attracted to her in that sense was both flattering, and surprising, especially since she never had such feelings towards anyone before. Then compounding the fact that she was reciprocating, if only in a subconscious way threw her for a loop. She wasn’t sure of how to handle herself, especially having never stepped in these sorts of waters before. But judging from the look on Rue’s face, she wasn’t doing much better than she was which gave her some measure of comforting knowing that she was just as she was when it came to this matter. Weighing it, she couldn’t find the harm in being friends with Rue. At the very least, if they found that despite their mutual attraction that anything big was impossible or inappropriate, they could at the very least be good friends with one another.
