Hilarious Game Bugs
I was playing Fallout 3 last night; I had just brought my dad to the Jefferson Memorial, the Enclave showed up, he died, yadda yadda... then I was at the point where you've got to escort Dr. Li and her minions through the sub-basement tunnels.
While blasting the heads off some feral ghouls and Enclave soldiers in the sub-basement, one of the idiots I'm escorting ran out in front of my field of fire and got clipped with a shotgun blast. He goes hostile and starts to flee from me. The others, Dr. Li included, don't go hostile, but start running and cowering at the sight of me. I shrug and continue on, following the point marker to reach the Citadel. The quest doesn't resolve itself and everyone's still scared of me. So I wait a few hours (since it's dark and I have Fellout installed, so you can't see shit at night outside of cities) and they appear to return to normal... ... until I go inside the Citadel and Dr. Li has a cutscene with Elder Lyons and Sarah Lyons. The result is epic hilarity--the Havok engine totally bugs out, because she's supposed to be standing and talking while also trying to cower in fear. So Madison Li is bouncing up and down like a spastic frog during the rather serious dialogue, while both Lyonses are nodding their heads rapidly to the beat. I just about lost my shit laughing when I saw this happen. Another funny Havok bug--I've actually seen this happen in both Fallout 3 and also Half-Life 2, is if you close a door over a corpse. The corpse starts wiggling and jiggling and twitching like a beached fish while the model clips through the door. It's more than a little disturbing to watch, especially in FO3 where you might have blasted limbs off and blood's still splattering everywhere... Post more funny game bugs here!

Probably the most memorable and funny one I've seen was in Knights of the Old Republic 2. During the final part of the find Vrook mission, where he is teaching you a new lightsaber technique, his targeting bugged or something. As soon as the in-game cutscene started, he immediately ran up to one of the random civilians that was standing around and began hacking away at him. Just kept attacking him for the entire duration with no dialog or anything. After it ended that civilian remained at 1 hp for the entire rest of the game, even after leaving the planet and coming back. I'm not sure what's actually supposed to happen in that scene since I never played a second time but I am positive that's not it, haha.
Also this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=48mVTLhVEsw And lastly, while it's been present since the beginning of the game, I still get a kick out of the bug in WoW that makes it appear that another player's corpse goes sliding across the map when they die. I've seen those things cover some huge distances. |

The funniest one to me is from Golden Eye, the origin of the Get Down! meme. Basically, you tilt the cartridge while playing the game, which messes the game up and can cause the characters and even objects to start spinning uncontrollably.
It basically looks like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SP5c_MEs9mo |

Only one game really comes to my mind when I think of glitches and programming errors: Sonic the Hedgehog (2006).
Some are amusing I s'pose while others are just downright facepalm-worthy, and to spare you a wall of text I'm just going to post a video showcasing some of the more well known faults. Spoiler for Sonic 06 Glitch Montage:
So yeah, not much else to say other than I wonder why the hell this shitacular game was released in this condition.

You would begin upgrading your robot with a cheap upgrade (like the mini-enginering pod) before quickly switching over to the economy upgrade. I can't find that vid right now so here's a landship. Imagine USS Iowa moving onto the beach and deep into German territory on D-Day. Nazis shat bricks. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YaBYLdzvms |

Man the quality of threads is just so much better in games then it is in the anime forums lately. Let me see....the Swing of Death in GTA IV is a fairly recent example. Rockstar Games are notorious for glitches so I can't imagine Red Dead Redemption going without having a good one for long. Maybe somebody has already even found some.

Halo Reach Beta has some pretty gut-bustingly funny glitches
Particularly this spawning inside a wall one, not to mention all the wacky and wonked up physics going on ahah http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3l3nwvjGdI#t=4m00s http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-0t94LjRW4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3l3nwvjGdI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pmtv4Tj8dCM

In mazes of fate, a very poorly developed game, switching out equips doesn't get your stats back to normal, so you can get them all the way up to 255 by requipping anything, BUT they drop down to zero if you raise them any higher, resulting in devastating level-ups. Also, the characters can switch in and out of the party, and Lucius (the knight) leaves when you enter the forbidden city. However, if you go back to his manor, he will follow you to the depths of hell as long as you don't go back to the forbidden city.
Gotta wonder who makes games like that |

I always got a chuckle out of the Zelda: Ocarina of Time glitch where you can use an empty bottle to deflect Ganondorf's energy attacks. Another classic one was the missingno glitch from Pokemon Red/Blue, which wasn't funny in and of itself but some of the side effects were.

When I was playing Dante's Inferno, there was a boss fight right before entering the circle of gluttony. That is Cerberus. So right when I was about to release those fire geysers, one of the heads struck me so hard that is literally knocked Dante out of the game. He's just floating in dead space. Unable to die and respawn, I had to reset the game and start over from my previous save file. I was kinda pissed at first but after while, it was pretty amusing just thinking about it.

Whenever Fallout 3 decided to outgrow body parts and make them incredibly ridiculous.
My character's hands looked like death claws. It was weird holding a sniper rifle without laughing as you look through the scope and see one of your fingers. I thought it was hilarious. I think it does it with more then just hands/fingers, but I've never see it. |

There was this old Rpg for the Sega Genesis (name escapes me) where you could equip a ton of accessories, even though the limit was actually two per character.
This would allow you to turn any character into a tank or powerhouse due to the effects of the accessories piling up.

I don't have an official source, but given that the two items share a common primary function (catching bugs), and can both be used to reflect energy balls, in what is essentially the same battle in both games, I'd classify it more as an Easter Egg (ie. an intentionally added secret) rather than a glitch. Given that it functions in the same way in future games (Wind Waker, Twilight Princess), heavily indicates this as an Easter Egg, not a glitch.
