I'm still not going to be overly negative for this but I gotta wonder what's the budget for this project?
The clip above is certainly not what I call stellar animation for today's standard and the ED credit is basically just one screenshot with next to no artistic spin on it. Is this what GITS looks like if we rob its big budget & handdrawn animation?

Just stop shaming this franchise....what it did in the 90s and 00s was so freaking big...why do they continually stain and defile its legacy with this half-hearted garbage? Geez, if they did that to Batou, I dread to what they did to the Major...

Reboot was the first CGI TV cartoon and is 25 years old. And it still looked way better than this.
My take on 2045 is the same as it was the first time I saw a PV - I'm embarrassed for everyone involved.

Watched the first episode today (not like I had anything better to do ) and my muscle memory was twitching for the 'skip cutscene' button, because while I said the still I posted earlier looked a bit videogame, the opening to the episode just looked like a game cutscene.
I'll give it a few episodes to see if the story is any good, but I'm not grabbed. |
