They've played the OP song to death, but I don't mind. That performance was pretty enjoyable to watch, even though a lot of it was just re-used animation from the OP.

Very underrated show.

This has been a sweet ride. Love how they wrap it up in the end, quite a fitting finale for very entertaining series. Like how the four remaining girls take losing Hana very sensibly. Instead of fret or sulk they push ahead to their goal and plan and practice .With Hana very much in their hearts they even plan to record their performance for her and even gave her (thru her dad)a CD copy of their song, because even though she may be far away she's considered still a part of the team. The CD did come in handy though.

All in all it ends with positive emotions and high-spirited energy, like a very lively dance. (nice touch that they refer back that Hana knew Parkour)

A real jewel.

After episode 11, I wanted this to end in the most cliched way possible, I just wanted smiles.

I got that, and then more. Much more.

This was an excellent ending, in terms of visuals, music (time to get the full OP!) and everything else. I do wish we could've seen more yosakoi, but that ending was so good it's just a nitpick to me at this point, and this always more about the journey than the destination anyways. Besides, considering the hype for the other show madhouse was doing this season and the past one, I say Hanayamata looked and sounded pretty damn good.

I really did love everything about the last episode, everything just worked perfectly, we even got to see Yaya's bad friends shwoing some true appreciation for her friend, but of course, my favorite part, by far, was seeing how far Naru has come, and my god, has she come far. Not only did she not go whiny at any point, she managed to overcome her longing for Hana all on her own and give one last inspiring monologue to the girls (and one last "Naru is the MC in this harem" moment ), and it was the best by far. And she even got to clear the misunderstanding with her dad, resulting in another beautiful moment between the two. If something made this series for me from day one, it was Naru.

I guess this will be going into the underrated group of SoL along with Sora no Woto, and just like that one, it was one hell of an enjoyable experience with a great ending to boot. Thanks, madhouse, and to that awesome director whose name I really need to memorize already, kudos, this is the second show that meets my expectations and then goes way beyond them. Will be looking forward to her next work.

If you like SoL and want some true inspirational moments along with your cuteness, without forgetting the delicious yuri flavored bits, give Hanaymata a chance. Great show, plain and simple.

P.S: Seriously, watch Sora no Woto.

That was almost all anime original though.
Spoiler for comparison:

Speaking of the festival, how many manga chapters does Hanayamata have should Madhouse made another season of it?

This anime might not be the best the genre has to offer, but I loved it. The finale was incredible and emotional.

it is a little bit to yurish.. but so far all of them are okay!

I feel like the addition of Machi is little too late since she didn't really have time to develop
but the show has done a very good job in developing each arc
and finally, the last episode set a perfect climax.... (it is even lots better than K-ON)
the song is also good.. love it!

Maybe the one you saw was the pre-finale stalker points before which only have a 2k mark, after the finale, the show boosted up to the 4k mark, funny that even the hyped Tokyo Ghoul was pass by this show, and to be honest I'm also agreeing with it specially because of the last 2 episodes

It'll be interesting to see what the ratings will be for the upcoming Yosakoi Live! Vita game, at least in how it compares to other Bamco-made game adaptations on that platform in Japan.

EDIT: And speaking of which:

Never have I seen a moéblob show have as much weight and development as it does while still keeping to its image of cute girls/cute things. There's a Shakespearean element to the way emotions are expressed, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Appropriately, this show is less a story of our goals and fears, and more a performance of our dreams and nightmares. And I wouldn't have it any other way.

Their dance won't take everyone's hearts, but it's already taken the stage.

Soundtrack

Anyone know the name of the background music used in the very beginning of episode one, right before the opening song? Or what the original work is called? Thanks.

P.S. I don't think the show has released a soundtrack album?
