I would so like to see Shanks's reaction when/if he defeats Big Mom or at least his reaction to him challenging her, that means the boy's growing and he might be next
But the use of the word "burn" in this chapter reminded me of Madam Sharley's prediction, maybe she'll burn the Island after all ?Somehow impersonating Luffy ? |

Well, this isn't exactly the first case of cannibalism we've had in OP.... recall that Wapol tried to eat Luffy a couple times in the past, as well. Quote:
Now that you mention it, she does sort of look like an apostle. And she even has an egg-themed guy as part of her crew.... coincidence? BTW, I'm guessing that Pekoms is sort of like Bepo from Law's crew in the sense that he's not a Zoan, but an actual talking lion. I wonder if the Grand Line has a particular island where those talking beasts come from....? |

Something just occurred to me: Luffy recovered the treasure from Caribou, but does that also include the tamatebako? If not, then if Caribou does manage to escape the island in one piece, not only would he risk exposing Shira's secret, but he may end up selling the steroids to some rather unsavory folks who'd not only mass-produce it, but may even somehow modify it so that there's no risk of rapid aging once the pills are ingested.....

Guess the thought crossed many minds huh? Big Mam's definitely big though...I bet Brook's gonna say "don't eat me, I'm all bones!" or something

Very good chapter here, the semi-reveal of Big Mom was great and Luffy being boss!
Loved the colour spread, the animal ver. of the gang is great stuff Looking forward to wants to come and finally putting down whatever ideas on a new crew member joining anyone has!

Ah Luffy, he never ceases to amuse with how haphazardly he will stir up trouble; not even giving a second thought to making enemies with one of the most powerful people in the world.
Y'know i wonder if Oda redesigned Big Mom a bit since the end of water 7. In her original silhouette picture, she had a pointer nose, flat teeth, her eyes looked a bit closer together and what looked to be a more normal head... She looks WAY more grotesque now

ah, typical luffy. why am i not surprised?! make fishman village his territory eh? i can totally see that happening.
i laughed out loud when luffy asked zoro for directions and sanji opted to take the opposite direction instead. big mam reminds me of jabba the hut with her grotesque appearance and the way she slobbers like an animal. perhaps she's just as brutal and ruthless. the succeeding chapters should be interesting.

Charlotte actually made it threatening and kind of terrifying. The thought she'd casually eat one of her crew members just because she's hungry without any remorse is very sociopathic of her. There's no indication that she can do it because of a devil fruit or not yet too. I think it's pretty clear now with this chapter's events that she's been set up as an antagonist. Any sort of chance that she would ever ally herself with the Straw Hats at any point has practically vanished.

I wouldn't be surprised if she was related to Ivankov (older sister? ). Given how obsessed with food she is, she will probably kidnap Sanji as soon as she will hear about him, to force him to cook for her. She might even fall in love with him for the lulz. Which would be a nice variation of the damsel in distress. And Luffy would be seriously pissed to see his only cook be stolen from his kitchen.
