This is great news.

I really loved the first season. My favorite fantasy anime in a while.

Going to be interesting to see how they reconcile the different ending from season 1 with how things went in the manga/LN and still do the stories the same, since that promo shot shows the Spirit Turtle and all.

Holy s***, how often does a series get a second and third season announced simultaneously?

Though I wouldn’t be surprised if seasons 2 and 3 were just two split-cour 12-episode seasons.

Never expected another season for this, let alone a third one mainly because the first season started in a very good way but from the church arc to the end a lot of important details were changed and the studio rushed through the content of the LN.

I agree with Dragon, is going to be quite interesting to see how are they going to fix the mess that was the first season.

Not the biggest fan of the series but I liked it enough to keep watching.

I know it was a big hit (might end up on Toonami or Netflix) but getting two seasons back to back is awesome.

Awesome! I was kind of expecting/hoping they would continue the series given it's a Crunchyroll co-production and it did amazing streaming numbers but it's still great to see the story will continue and we'll get to see Naofumi, Raphtalia and the gang again .

I'm also curious if the second and third season will mean a split two-cour in practice, although maybe they're expecting to cover the entire series with this ?

I'm not surprised that it got a second season, but I am surprised that it got a third announced at the same time. I started to lose interest as the first season went on, but I'll still check out the next seasons.

Excellent news, the first season of Tate Yuusha were boring it and uremarkable but season 2 and season 3 are other news. Tate Yuusha quality are increased after Spirit turtle arc.

There's no need to change anything; they can sideline a particular scene and not build on that, while the town thingonly got pushed earlier but they can also ignore it's consequences until later.

I hope they don't butcher Naofumi personality in future two seasons like they did in first season ..
What's with "legend of Shield Hero start here"..
He won't never said something like that

My confusion is how they are going to handle the Anime plot, since the 1st Season was a mix of Web Novel, Light Novel and Manga plots.

Are they going to continue the same way as 1st Season, or would they take only the Light Novel plot.
But if they continue with only the Light Novel plot, then some issue might arise (which i think can't be mentioned here as no spoilers, even if its a comparison of events already occurred).

The thing is, they did that part similar to the Web Novel, aka., Naofumi becomes a Count and gets the village after the training on the Island (in Web Novel, there was no "Wave" incident on that island); compared to the LN, where he becomes a Count and gets the village after the Next arc (which would be the focus of Season 2).

You look too much into this. They simply ended season this way because they didn't know if series will get green light for next series and wanted to end this on happy note. Getting tittle and village can be easily ignored until time when it will be needed for plot.

Yeah, I didn't see how that would affect the plot going forward in any way. You can just ignore the village until it's needed again in the plot.

But, yes, awesome, two full new seasons (unless they change to single cour seasons, which I hope is not the case)!!!

Being that they announced both seasons at the same time, you can almost guarantee each is only a single cour.
