Kinda seeing where this is going, with Rae trying to push Claire together with Claire's favorted prince. Rae thinks she won't be around for much more time, since there's probably a game event where the masked guy tries to kill Claire and she'll throw herself on the grenade, so to speak, to prevent Claire's death.

And so, the final part of vol. 1 has started (3 episodes late for my taste). I wonder how people will react to some more controversial parts of this episode.

Unless they announce any form of sequel to finish the first LN arc, I will be super disappointed.

I really didn't see that twist coming. At all. A bit confused Rae doesn't know the identity of the masked man, it's weird she knew absolutely everything about the incident and the blackmail but not that.

Rae knows a lot about game plot but she does not know everything. Also, there are some other things in play but they won't be explained in the anime.

As for the twist (or two twists technically), they were teased a bit.

Huh, yeah. That did come a bit out of nowhere. Like, zero hints towards it in the prior episodes.

As for the rest, I at first thought masked guy would be some fanatic church member, but the claws kinda make that seem unlikely.

Incest was hinted a few epidodes ago when Rae talked with Lene about her brother.

His betrayel was only hinted mid episode, but he was the most plausible candidate.

Regarding masked guy we will only get the truth in potential sequel as they will stop 2/3 of the story.

Uh, could you point out the episode regarding the incest thing? I really don't want to go back and rewatch four or five episodes just to see what the hint was? Also, spoiler tags really are unnecessary after the episode has aired.

I don't remeber the exact episode number, it was shortly after his introduction. There was this scene there Rae and Lene were talking about Lambert while doing the laundry. Lenes reaction was a bit to overentusiastic and Raes expression was a bit odd when.

At best, just looks like Lene being brocon. Anime-only watchers like us wouldn't have thought of it hinting towards incest. Lots of surprised people over at MAL too...

I just hope there are some serious consequences for Lene and her brother. More the brother really, as he's actively endangering everyone. Lene just betrayed her master. I hate how anime loves to have characters handwave staggering betrayals, like power of friendship overrides all (eyeroll). I don't care how long I've been friends with someone (if you really consider a master/servant relationship in that manner); you threaten me with a knife to my throat, we're done.

In the teaser, it did appear that Lene

was in some sort of a jail (but outside? weird) so hopefully they are punished but then we see Claire smiling through the bars so I assume all is forgiven (sigh) lol

It's amusing watching Rae slowly eroding Claire's harsh tsun exterior and giving us some glimpses of the inner dere

In the end, Lene and Lambert got exactly what they wanted. With them getting exiled from the country and banished from their family, they can start over somewhere else. Rae even gave Lene some recipes so she'll be able to rake in a ton of money. They won hard. Their family, on the other hand, lost everything because of them.

Kind of a weird way to end this incident.

More interestingly, the preview reveals that Claire's first love is transferring to school... and she's a girl!

Manarias arc is fun but a bad place to finish the season IMHO. I still hope they'll announce a sequel of sort but chances are low.

Well, the got off easier than they deserved. But at least it's over and now we're on to something new. I wonder if they'll keep squeezing the bitchy master thing all the way through to the end or if we'll see some change in their relationship by the time the show wraps.

Manaria is a gigastacy. I find it odd that she's the heroine's greatest ally in the game when she's Claire's beloved onee-sama. It's easy to forget but Claire is supposed to the villainess.
