Can only say one thing about this show: This first episode was the most meta troll, funny thing that I have ever seen. I was literally rolling on the floor (LITERALLY) holding my sides at the end of the episode. This season is going to be pure bliss because of this show. And yes this was funnier than One Punch man, even if One Punch Man was really good.
This is going to be one hell of a ride, with our director who has done Gintama. YEAH!!! First episode was 11/10. Way too good. Also... that Titan... and then Yowapeda, Kuroko's Basketball, Love live, Boys over Flowers (at the very beginning with the F6 LOL), OP, Naruto, Bleach, and etc. I was giggling so hard at that point my god, lol. If someone hasn't seen this show, watch it. It's the best thing this season without a doubt. At the very least, it's going to be the most original, amazing anime of this season.

so even this type of anime isn't popular with the kids anymore? unless you are Doraemon or something........
i am still not sure the "modernization" joke is true to real life, trying to cater to today's standards, yeah to me the UtaPri rip-off version is easier for me to distinguish between the six brothers thanks to their different colored hairs compared to their original designs who all had the same black color but hell no due to the unfaithfulness that may cause the author to roll in his grave overall the jokes were well written: "cancel all", "what's happened? its a miracle!!"an asteroid blasted by the power of sibling bonding, shoujo manga cliche that also involves a car trying to ran over a puppy INSIDE A SCHOOL HALLWAY, a titan that does not have barbie doll anatomy, Love Live!'s Honoka has never looked so manly fighting a titan, & many more still not sure which is the best comedy of this season, this or One Punch man?

Show's deserve more attention, everything about the first ep is awesome.
I think many will drop this once it reverted to Normal Forme (slice-of-life comedy, I think) starting next episode, but personally it's not just the parodies that sold me, but the general tone and direction. Rooting hard for these old-school weirdos to produce a great show in the end and achieved some semblance of popularity. |

Episode 2
Definitely a funny show imo. We got job hunting this week but with a lot of unusual encounters and moments. There's no parodies in this episode so I expect the rest of the season to follow the lives of these characters. I also find that ED theme song to be....catchy, in a rather stylistic and weird way.

Well, obviously the first episode set a very high bar, and while I wouldn't be entirely surprised if there was at least one more high-concept parody show like that, this week was more comedic slice-of-life.
That said it was GOOD comedic slice-of-life and I really enjoyed it. The idol hand-shaking segment was particularly wonderful and hilarious. |

Even if this show wasn't funny it would be worth watching it solely for the cast...
It is funny, though. The fishing skit was deliciously random, the job hunting segment was hilarious (along with the "black factory", ahaha), and Osmatsu ruining everyone's day was some of the best comedy I've seen lately. And the ending is pure gold. (So this is why they got Suzumura Kenichi... ) |

Damn, those 6 are terrible at being adults. xD
Where are their parents though? They still seem to live in the same house as when they were kids shouldn't their father and mother be around and be disappointed of their sons? Or were they already on their own ten years ago? Who is the straight guy Osomatsu again? Choromatsu?

So I think that was a *very subtle* reference right there. Considering how many anime seem to literally do that (same model, slap a different hairdo on top, there you go, a new character!), that doubles as a meta joke of course .

Just watched the first episode. It's very Gintama-like, or perhaps Gintama is very Osomatsu-like instead. Since it was a 60-80s manga/anime, both anime also directed by the same director BTW...
The part one of the brothers taking out Ao Haru Ride's manga is very hilarious, because I just complete watching its anime few days ago... Last edited by abc0716; 2015-10-18 at 08:03. |

From this third episode I get the idea they're just trying different wacky things, as this week was a whole load of short skits, so even if one of them didn't work there'd be another one along in a minute. They pretty much all worked for me.
Definitely a keeper. |
