When They Cry is the name of the series. Higurashi is When They Cry 1, Kai is When They Cry 2, Rei is When They Cry 2+ and Umineko is When They Cry 3.

Finished Umineko 1 tonight. Natsuhi, Beatrice and Bernkastel (especially Bernkastel) was <3.

edit: Playing thru the hidden tea party again.. I just noticed Bernkastel has a cat tail attached ^^0

Hi everyone. I just got Umineko 1 but my computer wasn't able to understand japanese, so I set my Windows to understand it. The problem was that the installer was unable to understand japanese, the result was that it couldn't install any files with japanese characters in the name. To solve that I copied all the files manually. The game started but at one point in the beginning, it crashed.
It's at the very beginning when Kinzo is talking with his doctor when the screen is black and there is a sound effect.

It could help if someone could send a screenshot of the directories of the game when it is installed.
Please help me, because I loved so much Higurashi and I so want to play Umineko.

Re-check your Windows settings to match the screenshots as depicted on the How to make your computer play Japanese games (Windows XP) thread and re-install.

I believe the last character is 蝶 (butterfly). I know, the youtube resolution is quite bad. Try watching it on niconico and you should be able to see it clearer.
