Crazy Shinbo for SHINA DARK is a bad bad idea. It's good for shows like say... Zetsubou and Neuro (( which should've been directed by SHAFTbo )), but not Shina Dark.

A crazy Shina Dark is almost like a crazy Clannad. It loses the subtlety.

Yeah that's what i was thinking. Though there's no saying that we'll see serious Shinbo and crazy Shinbo at the same time --- personally i don't know how that would work out, though i'm all for serious at the moment. I love his crazy work, though he's done far to many on the go now.

I must be the only person who liked Negima!? for it's sheer lack of predictableness. They wasted some plots, I admit, but I think the humor and PPD-esque chaos was well done.

Since this was confirmed to be a CRAAAAZY show I look forward to it all the more, though I still keep the serious manga on my tabs. I'm somewhat irate that it seems to ignore our big Negi Springfield demon for more RPG mockery though...

Though something semi-related to the show has happened in the past few weeks. "Moon Legend" (one of the songs from the clips) had its full version released on Yuuki Aira's album "Reflection". Very nice song, too.

I liked Negima!?, even if characters' personalities sometimes get screwed up and some events are just painful to watch.

well the thing is, if you were introduced to Negi by reading the manga, then it is a higher possibility that you will hate the anime.

No matter what you say, the anime does not do the manga any justice.

I just hope they don't do the same with Shiina Dark, i mean there really isn't much for them to dumb down anyway, but i suppose anything is possible....

Well the scenes in the trailer seem to indicate that it will follow the manga fairly well, I'm guessing this will start up in Winter 09 or Spring 09 season since ef 2 is airing in fall.

What's the latest manga chapter as of this month?

hmmm right now one of the things i'm most concerned with is the fact that there may not be enough chapters to allow the anime to closely follow the manga.

unless they are going for a 12 or 13 ep series format, they'd definitely run out manga material to animate. In the case that happens the directors only option is to either end it short or create some anime original ending, both won't do the manga justice.

Most of SHAFT's recent works has been 12-13 episodes series, but don't worry they are sequel friendly as second seasons of ZSZ, Hidamari and ef show.

But it was announced on Day 1 it wouldn't follow the manga at all. Many people apparently missed this memo, making Negima!? more of a tragedy than it deserved.

Negima? rocked far better then that piece of crap that Xebec did. The only thing that sucked was that the fansubs were slow as hell. Anyways looking forward to this, it should be good since I like Shinbo's work.

It's not confirmed, though going by the PV's that have been released so far, we might see a calm Shingo this time around.

'All this crazy talk' is because of who the director will be, Akiyuki Shinbo. If you've at least seen one of his shows, then you'll know what we're on about.

Damn, this is really looking to be the case. I haven't seen or heard anything on this, or is it still magically going to release in October?

It's not appearing on the list of shows that will air in October. Looks like a 2009 job.
