I've just watched Tokyo Jihen's last live "I can't Help it". It's not as good as Electric Mole which was more a "Shéna Ringo besto of" and indeed inclued her very best songs but as usual they did great music and great performance...
starting with a powerful Yukiguni and ending with a sweet Rakujitsu. Don't miss this one if you are a Ringo fan... or simply a music lover. This is music, thank you Shéna.... I will pray for you to come in Europe one day T__T (yeah, I know, "dream on" T__T) Once again Dynamite was really... dynamite and Ringo's dance on it was cute to become mad... |

My favorite would be the pillows. I've tried to listen to other J-rock bands, but I just couldn't get into any other ones. I've listened to Asian Kung-fu generation, Hyde, L'Arc~en~Ciel, and Gackt. I either didn't like their songs or I got bored with the music really quickly. I really only like a few songs from other J-rock bands.

I want to know which opening or ending theme has the j-rock band, Pierrot, performed in a recent anime series?
Anyone remember Pierrot? They performed the first ending theme for Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne. |

Ali Project definitely. Orange Range do some good stuff too. And while I'm not one for mainstream music generally (particularly crappy western pop music) I do rather like some of Ayu's songs. Mostly I prefer the bigname dj remixes of her work though, including Ferry Corsten, Above & Beyond, Tiesto, Johan Gielen and Armin van Buuren. They've all done some amazing remixes of her songs
Probably my favourite would have to be Round table featuring Nino for their various anime openers as already mentioned (Aria and NHK ni Youkoso being two firm favourites.) |

Maximum The Hormone - Very similar to System of a down, so they're both good.
Move - Sounds cool with two leads (they go well together), the girl is hot too. JAM Project - I like super robot music. I like Yousei Teikoku as well, but haven't found much else that she has done other than the magipoka stuff . :/ |

Also, I'm pretty sure the Mai HiME game's music is by her, it's virtually identical in style and sounds like her voice too. You should check it out if you liked the OP to MagiPoka. |

I have like 2 other songs from her (the ones that came with the op cd), and that's it. Looks like amazon jp has some (after following the link from her site), now I can buy something else other than the 3rd boxset.

hrm... well, I'm a huge fan of Ayu... Evolution was the first non-anime j-pop song i ever heard, so yay for her...
other than that... ALI Project, Porno Graffitti, Do As Infinity, T.MRevolution, Ishida Yoko, Goto Maki, Kitade Nana, Tommy February and Aiuchi Rina are all at the top of my list... and See-Saw... because they're all... Kajiura Yuki-ish.... .................followed by Morning Musume.................. but i didn't say that.... i like their stuff from around 2000... it's so.... peppy... i also really like myco/Changin' My Life.... but i'm gonna guess that's because of Full Moon wo Sagashite and not because i actually like their music....

Ooops, I forgot to mention Kanno Yoko. Her work on the Arjuna soundtrack is simply incredible.
Shiryuu - Check this link: Mai Hime - Last Moment PS2 Game OST Wikipedia Link It is indeed composed by Yousei Teikoku. And another group I just thought of is The Shanty, thanks to Mnemosyne for reminding me with the mention of Full Moon |

Gackt - One of the first Japanese Artists I was introduced to. He has a unique voice, and can wsing all sorts of music genres. He's also eays on the eyes, if you know what i mean.
Def Tech - a group I was recently introduced to, they're catchy and I love their Jawaiian style. Also one of the members graduated from my highschool, so there's a slight "connection" there, too. :3 Orange Range - They're just so awesome. I'll forgive them that they replaced a member (and the cutests one, at that) but they're still pretty good. They have a nice mix of rap and vocals. |

My currently alive favorites should be bonobos, pop'ísh reggae in Fishman's style yet with a somewhat more relaxing mood, advantage lucy, feel-good pop with nice vocals, Perfect Piano Lesson, straight-forward rock with lots of style, Rin Toshite Shigure, traditional rock with an interesting twist in the tempo, Nikaido Kazumi, pop with atypícal vocals and Bandwagon, engrish punk. Nevertheless, the list would probably change in a week, since most of them are just what I've been listening to in this last few days.
