i jus watched the 2nd trailer and i have alot of questions

why is ed back in the armor
i thought al and ed were in different worlds
how did they get back together?!
who is the guy in the mask?!

i thought it takes place 2 years after the tv series
this doesnt make sense at all

i thought it would be about them trying to find each other again

Unless Ed figures the way back and someone "hitches a ride" and that causes Al to lose his body. Which would still leave Ed feeling guilty and upset most likely but also gives him somewhere to vent his anger.

Also thinking on this a bit more, if Ed were to return wouldn't that "undo" (for lack of a better word) his sacrafice and that would then put Al back into the armor?

I was thinking, maybe the scenes from the trailer are a flashback of events we never witnessed during the series. Then this... Fight, or whatever is going to come back and play a significant role in Ed reuniting with Al?

I am just as confused as u! All the questions ur askin is exactly what i'm wonderin!

If the thingy is supposed to take place 2 years after the tv series...then how come ed looks like he hasn't changed one bit? The last time we saw him a.k.a the last bit when he was in munich....he looked more mature than how he was when the series started...but here in the trailer...he looks like he got younger.

And it better be a flashback...but then the title is the ruler of shambala or somethin like that....shambala is that little island that was shown in the trailer right? man...i will be so upset if that whole thing they showed isn't a flashback!

Its a ploy by Bones....an EVIL ploy.......first they confuse u by claiming it take place 2 years later giving u hope that there will be a good conclusion...then they show a Trailer which totally sends lightning shocks of..."WTF" into your brain...

A week to the release they'll test the general mood......if they find its less receptive to the show than what they expected they'll delay the screening to let the excitement build up and hopefully get more viewers.......if the general population anticipation is high enough they'll still delay it to get more viewers.......

When u watch the movie you'll find yourself leaving with more questions than when u went in ( the sign of a good movie) and spend the next year poundering what u had just seen......finally when they have made all the money they need they'll announce that there won't be a 2nd movie leaving u cursing and swearing.....

hmm by the looks of that quote and the looks of that trailer, i conclude that Al probably really undo his brother's sacrifice and Ed went back into his unchanged body left behind in the gate. His current body is the other world may not be his actual body at all....

Probably there is some crisis happening and both ed and Al are required to save the world AGAIN and so in desperation Al reversed the alchemy spell...

Well it seems like it will be what really finishes the story, look at Ruroni Kenshin and Samurai X. The fact is the teaser shows that they have rememberence of what happend, or that there is a new pain/older pain suffered. It would seem, though, that there are flashbacks being used which isn't uncommon by any means. What I'm curious about is when he yells that it's "Our World". Does this mean that both are the same in one? Very odd, but hopefull should bring closure to fans of the series. If you liked it as it was and don't seek closure, then don't watch it. For those whom got a sinking depressed feeling, this will give a shred of hope...or that's how I see it anyway....

Man... i just loved FMA TV... was waiting AGES for this movie to come on DVD... then today i watched...

What can i say? GOTTA run for the MANGA cause this movie PLAIN SUCKED!!!

What was all about ed's father just being a sidekick? He barelly sees the camera! 2% of the movie TOPS!

And WTF is that WANNA-DESTROY-THE-WORLD-WOMAN? DANTE!!! I WANT DANTE!!!

Ohh so gluttony ate her? And then a hole field of red stones so he can became THAT big JUST for the big screens aye? BULLSHIT!!!

ED almost dies in pain just to connect the nervs on his new automail... but in the MOVIE ITS ALL PLUG-N-PLAY!!! YEEEE!!!...

And a LOT of chat about obvious things to enlight those who never watched the TV show... man talk about BORING!... and they changed the dub of mustang.... suckers!

As a GREAT FMA fan i finded the movie boring cause the movies was just ALL OVER IT! LIke they started to write what they wante dto make it happens stuff like a portal that everyone can go in an out!!! YAHOOOOO!!

Like the convenient rocket for the airplane so the PRESSURE doesnt fuck them up... PRESSURE?!?! i never heard about PRESSURE on the tv show.... you JUST CAN GO FROM ONE WORLD TO ANOTHET without giving something in return... and even then very unlikely you will survive!

Pacote: Honestly, that was quite negative. I for one found the movie very good and very true to the style that the anime took.

For starters, the movie's theme covered mostly racism; how people generally hated others due to them being different in color, powers even, and then this fear and hatred started wars. Very good theme to go with, but also expected only because Ed had ended up in Germany pre-WWII.

The beginning part of the story was a great way to hook in an audience, yet also added some subtlety to the movie; as to reasons why the Thule Organization would be so interested in Shambala.

Al can transmute his soul onto things? Interesting move.

Armstrong is so rich he's turning Lior into a new Central? Crazy guy. He builds a theater and gives it to someone... for no reason.

What was with Mustang? I thought he learned his lesson during the anime, and here he's just being so reserved and closed up. Should have really been more open... no, he should have taken the Fuhrer's place, really. Speaking of which, King Bradley's human version in our world is also quite interesting; a movie writer? Jewish? Talk about taking the most out of the era. Not only that, funny to see Ed keep mistaking people in our world for people from his own.

Sad to see Izumi go, but this is also something I should have seen coming. She's always coughing up blood... Wrath seems to have finally accepted her as his mother, but I wish there was more development on this part to make it all the more dramatic. Also sad to see Wrath decide to get himself killed too.

With Gluttony like that, we can safely say that Dante is *dead*, or at least, when she was transmuted by Al to recreate the Gate. I'm also saddened to see Hohenheim die here along with Envy, just for the sake of the Gate as well.

The main villain put up a lot of good reasons for why she did what she did, not just some stupid "Oh I want to blow everything up!". Because she realized there's a force stronger than her people, she wants to destroy them because she thinks they'll start a war. Typical of the closed-minded fascist pig, but also very realistic too.

Now that Ed and Al are both stuck in our world, they have to go off and find the uranium bomb that bastard brought over. After that though, they have a few options should they want to return:

1. If they took some of that black stuff with them, it might be possible for them to return. Remember the purple portal that was made, without Hohenheim being killed? And you can't just throw away that black stuff or burn it, who knows what will happen if someone finds it, or its remains?
2. There's always the Bermuda Triangle. Who knows what happens there...?

P.S. The story reminded me very much of how FMA 3's storyline was like in terms of quality... I wonder if Arakawa penned this?

Hohenheim's story is finished. There is no point trying to flesh out a character who we know so much about already, and doesn't really have anything more to do with his life.

Again, Dante's story is also done... and you should have guessed something like this would happen, especially after the events of episode 51.

They did not change the dub of Mustang. What are you talking about? And if there was anything obvious that they covered, it was only because it was to make the mood all the more enjoyable.

Somehow, I don't think you watched the movie properly; that, or you watched without subtitles and guessed what would happen.

I haven't seen it, but I want to.... I was told that the true ending to the series is the movie...And will it ever make it to the US?

Just watched the movie. I think the that the movie was truthful to TV series' storyline. I liked the ending very much. It made all things clear and it was a bid sad. But that's just what I liked about this ending, it wasn't the happiest nor the saddest one; It was the price they had to pay.

I was never a big fan of FMA but in any case it was entertaining and I am glad that this movie is the end of Full metal Alchemist. It was a very good way to end a fantastic tale.

I didn't think the movie was soley about racism.

Spoiler:

The gypsy aspect of it merely showed that people of our world had similar intentions as that of the ones in Ed & Al's world. In that there were people who would go very far and even betray their friends to achieve happiness.

Also, the story wasn't TOO complex. I just wondered why the heck Gluttony became so monstrous (I'm a bit hazy on the TV's episodes as of now).

And as for the ending, it made it seem like the FMA TV anime story is going to end with Ed & Al in our world, or maybe since they have the knowledge to be able to reach the other side now, maybe they may try to go back home. Though the ending makes it sound like they'll stay in our world, they probably can go back home with some effort
