Pretty crappy shot IMO. Clearly it's one of the Asuno's heads on one of the Earth Federation characters bodies with a mask spliced in. Would not surprise me if many people fall for this though, especially in the places that are looking for any reason to shit on this show.

edit: Yeah Asem's head lineart with Grodeck's body lineart recoloured red and the mask as possibly the only original element. Though I'm tempted to offer rep points if somebody can find where the mask comes from.

Well...if it's still not clear the difference for me with Horizon was between watching it or not, not whether I would take every opportunity to just shit all over it because of a poor first impression. Had the 2nd trailer for that not left a more positive impression as a hook you were likely to have seen me packing up my presence in the thread and diverting any further attention elsewhere. Fortunately I'm not one to let my first impression necessarily be my last and only impression and fully plan on giving it an open-minded first viewing. Just hope Chihara Minori has improved at acting...

True but the name Desperado seems a bit much for a construction MS plus everytime I see the name I keep thinking of that one country song.

Agreed, tentatively, the main character designs stand out as bland and childish (and not chibi but not regular or with regular height either, but like a weird mix) and I still don't particularly like them but the others look potentially better and fortunately the mechs are still looking promising (aside from the AGE-1 Titus form), maybe they were designed by Chiba and aren't just adaptations of the main character designer's designs lol.

Yeah, but the Sakibare was created in a world without any combat mobile suits so they have to used their awesome high tech GN engineering things on something. And the Sakibure is considered a high tech unit by most so it deserves a high tech design, especially being able to quantum teleport and all. But I guess the real version of the Desperados in 00 would likely stuff like the construction Anfs and probably all those humanoid construction machines used to made the Elevators. This guy truly looks like your more towards that sort of low level construction worker.

I agree with you that the Desperado is a well design construction worker MS that looks the part I just don't think the name is a good fit for this MS.
