Lightbulb Anime's like Death Note and/or Monster?

So, I've been searching nonstop ever since I finished Monster (about eight to nine weeks ago) and Death Note (about a year ago) for an anime like them.

Anime that

-is modern
-involves murder
-is a mystery
-constant twists and turns

any suggestions?

Detective Conan aka Case closed?

You can also give Spiral , Higurashi and Umineko a try.

Though there really isn't anything like Monster, Mouryou no Hako might catch your interest. In the opening scene a man carries a box with a young girl's head inside. Suddenly the head begins to sing. Things get more mysterious from there. It's a bit tough to find; PM me if you need help.

Here are a few other detective stories that might take your fancy:

Shion no Ou - A young girl sees her parents murdered at age four and moves in with neighbors where the father plays professional Shougi. By age thirteen, Shion aspires to follow in his footsteps. The story covers both her career and the murder investigation. I thought the crime story was weak, but Shion herself is a compelling character and worth watching.

Ghost Hound - A young boy and his sister are kidnapped; she dies and he survives. There is some focus on whether the accused kidnapper was actually responsible, but it's more about the boy who is being treated for PTSD. Mixes psychotherapy, neuroscience, and mysticism.

Bakeneko/Mononoke - This is a bit of a stretch. A traveling apothecary in the Edo period solves hauntings by determining three characteristics of the demons he faces.

House of Five Leaves - no murders, just a bunch of kidnappers

Red Garden matches all of your 4 points.
However it might be a bit of a leap, with the art style and initial setting.
It's pretty good though.

Give Chaos;Head a try : the 2008 12-episode supernatural mystery TV anime is focused on Takumi, a highschool student who is obssessed with virtual girls. One day, while he's playing around Internet, he enters a news website and see a picture involving a guy getting staked by multiple swords. Then, Takumi runs and meet a girl who's supposed to know him. The series has murder theme, involves lot of twists and show how Takumi is involved with murders and events that connect him. Illusions and delusions are also the central theme of the story.
