Did Goku technically die in that pit with the lava in episode 51 and just got wished back in nic of time from the Earth Dragon?

And hold on, I thought Kai was going to end at the Freeza Saga, now they're going to finish the other Sagas?

Good question, because I would also like to confirm that. Since Gohan said that Goku's Ki had vanished I think one can assume he died in the lava only to be revived again by the Dragon balls but here's something that got me thinking. Didn't Goku already reach his limit of deaths with the Earth's dragon balls? So how can he possibly have been revived by the Earth's dragon balls? I don't see the point in Goku lowering his Ki since Frieza can't even sense it in the first place.

As for when Kai is going to end, that was just a rumor and it seems like they're going to complete the rest of Dragon Ball Z.

Nope, he'd already been wished back once by the dragon (and the Earth dragon can't bring back someone twice.) Perhaps Super Saiyans can withstand heat? Who knows, really.

Shiosai is correct. Furthermore, Goku falling into a volcanic eruption was filler. In the manga, he falls into the water and quickly emerges back up.

Ah ok, I'm not well informed on what is exactly filler and what isn't but that specific filler caused some misconceptions on my part because Gohan said that Goku's Ki had vanished and the timing was too coincidental. Thanks for clearing that up though.

Do we know for sure its stopping after Cell and no Majin? I mean if they are really trying to milk DBZ for all its worth you would think they would do the majin buu arc as well.

It looks like they're planning to do the Android and Cell sagas, so why stop there? They might as well go all the way and do the Buu sagas.

Since this is the "director's cut"... maybe "the director" really, really, really hates everything after Cell, or just thought ending it after Cell provided a much better stopping point.

Nah, they'd have the change the ending for that. Assuming the "director" is Toriyama, and he wants to have it end with Gohan as #1, anyway.

The new animation in the OP is pretty cool, but I wish they'd removed the stuff with the Saibamen and "baby" Gohan. It just looks so out of place now.

I'm not a fan of the ending song, the variation of the ending song doesn't really work well for the next episode preview. And as for the opening, it's mostly stills and no Cell

Although you can see his tail attacking 16.

The episode itself was pretty good with several new tracks, I also like King Cold's new seiyuu.

Nice new changes to the OP, though the timing was odd with the sudden transition with Tenshinhan attacking a Sabaiman to stills of 17-20. Goku flying during that fight was rather an odd choice to have.

But Gohan standing on the roof was nice. Totally play out his "will be the strongest" role later.

Not quite used to the new ED. Too popsy for my taste for now.

Saw this on the OP. Is the guy on the right Raditz?

while i'm fine with this recut i'm somewhat annoyed they couldn't of Reanimated most of the Fight Scenes because the Graphics and art used in the OVA and in the Opening Song have been awesome and then you see the Main program and think aaaaahhhh i thought it was gonna be good

but Next week is trunks intro and more pink vegeta shirt goodness
