The PLA can have the baby since it is male. Training soldiers from birth and indoctrinating them FTW. [/sarcasm]

Most of all, you have to be disciplined and you have to save, even if you hate our current financial system. Because if you don't save, then you're guaranteed to end up with nothing.

Chinese baby 'fell into sewage pipe accidentally'

Quote:
The Chinese baby that was rescued from a sewage pipe fell in accidentally, the baby's mother has said.

The mother, who has not been named, reportedly told police she unexpectedly gave birth on the toilet and that the baby slipped in to the sewer.

She is reported to have raised the initial alarm, despite not admitting it was her baby until later.

The baby is currently recovering in hospital after being cut free from the pipe in Jinhua city on Saturday.

China's Zhezhong News reported that the 22-year old mother told police she could not afford an abortion. She was unmarried and kept her pregnancy secret, police told AFP news agency.

She said she tried to catch the baby after unexpectedly giving birth, but that he slipped into the sewer. She then alerted her landlord, according to state news agency Xinhua.

The mother did not think she could afford to look after the baby, so she did not tell anyone that the baby was hers, reports Xinhua. She went to work after he had been rescued and only admitted the baby was hers when confronted by police later.

Police are continuing to investigate whether the incident was an accident or the result of a deliberate act, reports Xinhua.

The infant was named Baby No 59 - after the number of his hospital incubator.

He was found inside a pipe just 10cm (4 in) in diameter, the China Daily newspaper said.

He suffered some minor abrasions on his head and limbs, but is said to be recovering well.

A number of visitors came to the hospital with contributions of nappies, baby clothes and powdered milk.

Wu Xinhong, the head of the Pujiang People's Hospital, told AFP that the baby's condition was "good" and that he was ready to be released.

The case has generated condemnation on weibo, China's version of Twitter, with accusations that the baby had been deliberately dumped.

China has strict family planning rules, with a one-child policy in place for more than three decades. Although there are a number of exceptions, couples can face fines if they violate the policy.

There have also been cases of babies born outside marriage being abandoned, or female newborns abandoned because of a traditional preference for sons.
Well, she says it's accidental

Uh-huh.

She confessed several days later at the police questioning eh?

That's so fishy it makes a squid fishing boat smell pleasant.

How about "Pool-of-water-claimed-by-multiple-countries"

On another note:

The next SARS? I'm quite sensitive to this since the previous one hit us pretty hard.

No one in their right mind calls it that. Even in the old text is was the South China Sea, China Sea, South Sea, East Sea or Sea of Cham.

It was called this in the Philippines until only a few years ago:
Dagat Timog Tsina

I know the 'West Philippine Sea' is just something I've heard recently, even growing up here it was always South China Sea.

But then it could also be East Vietnam Sea, which is why I'd rather it be called Mid-Asian Sea...because that's where it is.

Err no, us Vietnamese refer to it as East Sea ( on all kinds of media ) since it's our government's intention to drag the whole ASEAN into this mess with us . But I don't think ASEAN can ever be united in this matter when China have major influence in several ASEAN countries' economy.

Ah, when I talked about not being a match - I was talking about fighting in diplomatic ways like: the signing of COC or a united ASEAN when it comes to territorial disputes. Remember last year ASEAN meeting? Cambodia make the whole ASEAN into a joke ( Just because few days before the meeting, China promised them to invest several billion $ next year and more to come )

Most people in Vietnam agree that war with China is the most stupid thing since they have almost 100% chance of winning and even if they lose, they won't take as much damage as we do.

Agree with that. Look at our President. *facepalm

All he does is "We'll gonna complain in UN so let them fish and plant their flag"

Eh?

Taiwan certainly took a hard-line stance, but that doesn't excuse the terrible handling of the incident by the Philippines. Both faced internal pressure, but PHL's response realistically didn't leave much room for TW's govt. to maneuver (though I don't know if it would've anyway).

And you know, your coast guard DID kill an unarmed fishermen...

I think the family just filed a case, though they don't know who actually killed the fisherman so the case was filed but not against anyone yet.

I agree. I find the so-called fact that she "accidentally" dropped her baby into a sewage pipe to be highly suspect. Don't get hysterical about the incident immediately? Confess several days later? Sounds legit!

The fact that they're fishing in some others' country's sea? Anyway, it's still under investigation. It is now whether the coast guards shot the fisherman out of self defense or intentional (coz his to stubborn to listen) .

Look, they're fishing here again wanting to be shot and seek compensation,,,
