hm i serach within ebay, type like *1/8 GoodSmile Saber* and it shows up, but seriously is expensive...unless u MUST want it than thats another story, and also since is *dis-continued*, ppl will be asking alot of $ for their Saber figures unless the manufacturer decides to continue it again. If u have an anime shop in your area NoHyri, u can ask them to find one for u, print like copies of the figure, bar-codes, every info u have of it and give it to them, that might help. =), hope that can be of use to u

Do not purchase anything from "Boise River Collectibles".

Seems like I need to get a refund from them but I'll lose at least $12 (that is how much they charge for ground shipping. i'll have to ship it back too). Or maybe I should just contact my credit card and let them handle it. I guess it'll depend on how they respond to my email.
wow, not to be rude, but learn a bit of information and you think you're an expert in the industry.

the "STICKERS" is proof that an item has entered japan legal for distribution by their top tier distribution companies, a sticker that shows that item was taxed by the japanese government. each distribution company has their own sticker. Good Smile distributes for Max Factory, Alter, and Goodsmile. So if a Good Smile product enters Japan, it has to have their seal on it as proof. HOWEVER when one of their products is distributed in Hong Kong or France, it might have a different sticker on it. NOT all legitamite products have the Japanese sticker seals on them. That just tells you it's country of origin, well distribution origin. Most toys are manufactured in china, hence the lots of Made in China referce.

As for validity of the products, check out AAA Anime Distribution
they distribute licensed products from many publishers and manufacturers in the US. and you you check around on import toy forums like the ones on AOD, you'll find out that they're are distributing in the US products from Good Smile, Max Factory, Alter, Clayz, Atelier-Sei, and Griffon Enterprise. I've bought import toys from my local comic book shows and they sometimes have a Diamond Comics sticker on them and sometimes they don't. Doesn't mean it's fake. If you really want to know if it's fake or not, just ask the retailer who is their supplier for it. Did they import it themselves from Japan, HK, or from a licensed US distributor. If they tell you it's a japanese import, it better have the japan sticker. if they tell you it's from a HK wholeseller, then you gotta be careful, because they actually FAKE the sticker. Not many know this unless you buy banpresto plushes often. As far as US products go, from time to time they have the sticker.

As for defects, yes these items are produced on an assembly line. Some toys are hand painted on a line, details like eyes and such. There will be blemishes. it's seen on US toys, it's seen on imports as well. if you really are afraid of getting a blemish, pay extra to have them inspect it. retailers have hundreds of orders and inquiries a day. some are busier than others. don't expect them to check the product for you when they have a deadline to meet to ship out as much products as possible. comic book industry have a grading scale for toys. you can purchase at www.wizarduniverse.com NIB toys that have excellent paint jobs and boxes with the least bit of imperfection but will pay far higher price. they take the time to inspect it, grade it, and seal it in a very nice plastic display case for collectors.

anyways in boise rivers defense. i've seen their listings on AOD from time with AAA Anime stock images. retailers will use the images provided by their distributors, saves them time from scouring the internet unless they want the hi res images to make banners or prints ads themselves.

I never claim to be an expert. This is the first figure I have have purchased so I am on the cautious side. I'm getting various opinions on this issue. Like I said before, if I have offended anyone, I'm sorry.

ichigo15, I just want to be sure you're talking about what we are. We're referring to the Type-Moon hologram sticker that all official Type-Moon merchadise have. It's normally on the box.

EDIT: I just re-read what you said. You are talking about something COMPLETELY different. Nobody was talking about that, just the Type-Moon sticker.

i'm talking about the same thing. the Type Moon sticker might not make it onto a US version of a toy or a Hong Kong version of the toy for the reason that it never made it to Japan to get the sticker. Sticker is proof that it's taxed and that the products went to Japan. it's not a copyright sticker that is proof that the product is valid. it's mainly a tax sticker. that the product was intended for japan and not in import which japan sometimes reverse imports their own goods.

wbc1228, sorry if i came off as an ass about it. it's just it wasn't fair to label his store a bootleg store before sorting getting an answer from the store owner first. from the site, they've been selling comic book toys and anime figures for quite a while. so the "let this be a warning to all" comment is pretty harsh.

My earlier post isn't a declaration that "if something doesn't have a sticker, it's fake" either. Like I said, I wasn't aware if these products have "different country versions" or not. What I do know is that I purchased all my TM goods from Japanese dealers and they all came with the TM stickers on the package (which, by the way, say 版権許諾証 (copyright consent proof) on them).

In any case, you can go into the whole "some real deals have no stickers" and "some bootlegs have fake stickers" business, and get everyone confused, but it's really simple: buy from dealers only after you are convinced that they are trustworthy (do a little research, browse the dealer's site for more info about them, for example), and if you got a product that you're satisified with (quality and "I-think-this-is-authentic" wise), then that's the important thing.

Yea, my comment on "Boise River Collectibles" was a little harsh and I have edited it out. It is just that before you commented on the site, no one here voice an opinion on them one way or the other. If I find the authenticity of a product questionable, then I'll classify it as a fake and warn others about it. I still find it shocking that the sticker is a "tax sticker" and not an "authenticity sticker". Not saying I don't believe you, it is that I would have never guess that as the purpose.

Also, Boise River Collectibles's web site is a weird. www.brcat.com
They sell anime figures and adult figures (ie porn stars, etc.) under the same roof (site).

So in the end, there is no sure way to determine if that the product is authentic?

the only way to be sure is to contact the license holder or manufacturer. but they're japanese, so then the next best thing is to ask the retailer where they got it from, and then trace it back that way. Up to you to decide how legit everything sounds, but i know Fate figures are comming in from Alter, Goodsmile and Clayz through AAA Anime. Same quality, but more afforable pricing.

and someone asked for these pics

Quick note: no pics for it yet on HLJ, but they do have a preorder up for the Clayz 1/6 Saber White Swimsuit. So keep your eyes peeled to your favorite retailer! ^_^

Seems like Hobby Link Japan will be cheaper than the AAA north american distribution.

could be cheaper. but AAA only sells to retailers. so chances are retailers will offer it cheaper. not many will stick with SRP. shipping from the US will also be cheaper than shipping from Japan, pretty sure many retailers will be able to match the hlj price, but maybe not the speed. oh and there's a link on the bottom of the page that leads to another site that has more pics, even one from the back lol.

Maybe when Rin gains the power of Scarlet Ruby, she grows 3 feet taller?

Goodsmile saber's painting is very good, the armor in particular is very well done. Only thing I don't like that much of this figure is her face, but for the pose and detail is a top class figure
