Well... technically we only know that they bought 28 time slots to "re-air" the first season which only has 14 episodes... which is how we determined there was going to be new episodes mixed in.

What if it turns out there are also 14 episodes purchased for some "new" series. That happens to be called "The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya".

If this is truly the case then this would be... just... I don't know how to describe it, except to say if we called it Tsundere marketing, this would be the deredere that make this summer's tsuntsun bearable.

My thoughts exactly. I just feel pathetic that I understand that metaphor. Endless Eight will end, we just don't know when. (That rhymes, I call dibs.)

We actually don't even know that. It was never confirmed ANYWHERE.

Just because it's in Japanese doesn't mean it might be real. Do you have a source link?

Also, I don't see how it's very likely that all three blocks will have 14 episodes, because TV seasons are usually organized into quarters, and this would drag the end of the show into mid/late-January when another show could take its place. I think it's more likely that one of the blocks would only have 12 episodes, assuming they're actually consecutive, which would end the show right at the end of December.

I don't understand how you can deduce that from such a Japanese text which, translated with Google, doesn't seem to deal with Disappearance...

A 42 episode season would be just fine with me.

I like the look of the episode list that Sackett posted. I really want to see Intrigues animated, it was a fun story. (Plus, anything with more Tsuruya is it has to be good xD)

I'm also interested in how they'd do Editor in Chief. That was also one of my favourite short stories, even though it might not make it in (if this 42 episodes even turns out to be true).

The only problem I can see is that Where Did The Cat Go? takes place after Snow Mountain Syndrome. The only way that rearrangement would've made sense is if the two stories were intended to end a season. That listing includes Intrigues, so I don't see any point to messing with continuity.

Probably in two or three parts. As long as they do justice to both Nagato and Kyon's stories, I'm perfectly fine with how the rest is handled.

Of course, as you said, the story probably won't show up until the season where Volume 9 and the eventual Volume 10 are included, so it really shouldn't be brought up here.

I admit, I like orderliness. I would hate to see all 42 episodes being titled under "Melancholy". That is, at least in my opinion, unorganised and inappropriate.

With "Disappearance" as the new anime title (hopefully), comes new OP and ED. I have a feeling that they are going to be epic, really epic.

IAWTP. I always like new OP and EDs, and I hate when something (especially something with such a nice theme naming of the novels) is merely referred to by the first one and then forgotten about.

Which is why you shouldn't trust Google with translations. Compare 涼宮ハルヒの消失 to the title of the fourth novel here. They are the same.

Of course, that isn't to say we should believe this announcement. I strongly doubt the article's authenticity. The point of this post was just that one should not rely on Google to do translations.

Hi, long time! I read a lot of people complaining because how much Kyoani strech this story.. but they are complety missing the point. The story is supposed to be this annoying! If there were only two episodes we wouldnt get the same feeling of angst that Kyon has, having to live the same day over and over and over and over and over and over and over again! In the novel Nagato said they have tried to break the loop 8,769 times!! So the only way to represent that is repeating the same episode at least five or six times. That way we all feel like Nagato, who has probably killed herself a dozen times (yeah, I can totaly picture her kidnapping the groundhog and driving to a cliff jeje).
Oh, and the "eight" number is an infinite symbol, Kyon just realized (again) how they are in a Moebius trip.
