For those of us who are familiar with the source material, we totally knew where the episode was going to stop for the cliffhanger.

Well damn. That's it for Avdol. Too bad someone with such a flashy ability had to be hte one to go. Somehow the death felt a lot less impactful than say Zeppeli and certainly less than Caesar. Though maybe going for more of a shocking "just dead" kind of feeling.

Certainly a more serious tone now. While the last few battles hadn't been easy, can't say I thought any of the good guys were going to die either.

Not really surprised Polnareff did what he did out there. He did come all this way just to go after that guy. It's not like they didn't leave him alone to fight the creepy doll guy. Went out to pick his own fight this time.

But yeah, already being familiar with the source material like myself kind of decreases the emotional investment in that ending for more reasons than one.

New characters voices:
Hol Horse - Hidenobu Kiuchi (Hei in Darker then Black, Franklin in Hunter x Hunter remake). In OVA and ASB he has been voiced by Norio Wakamoto and Houchu Otsuka

J. Geil - Takuya Kirimoto (Zhuge Dan in Dynasty Warriors, White Snake in ASB). In OVA he has been voiced by Mugihito and in ASB his VA was Fumihiko Tachiki.

Nena is voiced by Satsuki Yukino (Otae in Gintama, Milly in Trigun), while in OVA she has been voiced by Megumi Toyoguchi.

Pig toilet are really horrifying. I can sympathize with my fellow Frenchman Polnareff. For the record, they still exist even now in India.

Avdol's death was pretty anti-climactic, but that's how it was supposed to be. The Crusaders have to be cautious at all times or they'll meet an untimely end.
