Well, Kabuto never passed the chuunin exam, so he was indeed a genin. There is not much difference between always forfeiting the exam and not even bothering to take it (Naruto the last 3 years)
Ok Naruto really failed once, but he remains undefeated in the competition. |

its good to see ramen girl again and kakashi looking different aside from his normal jonin vest. The amount of action was a bit of a let down, they could've left out naruto's premonition about garaa (i.e the egg cracking and flashbacks) and finish off kankuro's fight right there. A 6 from me.

I just entered this thread to see whether I was right or wrong in my decision to stop watching the anime after the third (or was it the second?) episode, with a little hope that it was wrong. And, unfortunately, it seems that I was right.
It is really sad to see the anime producers continuing in a completely opposite direction of what they promised with a brand new cover on the anime and after that satisfactory introduction. If they were planning to go that way, they could have waited a few months more before starting the new series. I am sure many people would have preferred a delayed almost filler-less version compared to the current one. After seeing this, I cannot help but appreciate the efforts of the One Piece producers, despite the filler colored version of the story, right now. |

That kind of thinking only really works brand new series... afterall, the main reason for that slowness in the begining is because the series needs to take time to develop the characters and kick them off, especially when the characters are only just starting to leanr about themselves... With naruto part 2, all that is pretty much done, we already know the characters and such, so there isn't as much need for that early development... Overall, i just gotta say, we just saw a fight agaisnt two major badasses... Garra versus a member of Akatsuki... And so far, for the most part, the best reaction the fight has gotta was "it was ok/fine", along with whole alot of dissapointment. Back in the days of Nartuo part1, before those fillers, a fight of this caliber would have probably garnished nothing less than "OMFG awsomeness!"... Its really sad how they could screw up such a fight... i fear for the future battles of the series... Really, that soon? and here i thought it might be even long than that, like 40-50 Quote:
