ROMANCE/ DRAMA Anime needed ASAP

hello there animesuki!

I have a problem :P i'm looking for my next anime to see.
Now this is the hard part to actually find one .. I'm looking for a romance/drama anime without the mecha/magic and unrealistic things. Also skip the comedy. If it's just a little of it might be okay but not too much . What have i seen then?
well i'll post it to help you out
Spoiler for watched:

All I can suggest is ef - a tale of melodies. Not as good as the first, but still very good. You also learn more about the characters from the first one a little, which is nice.

Lightbulb ROMANCE ANIME IS AWESOME! haha

Romance/Drama Animes are the best types of Anime! (anyone who doesnt agree- state it so!)
but there are alot of categories that it falls under...personally i like the rich boy, poor girl relationships that gradually lead to a seriousely awkward (yet loved) chain on moments.
If you like that type then i highly suggest taking a look at
-"Maid Sama!"
-"Special A"
(these aren't those categories but they're a really funny romance animes!!!)
-"Lovely Complex"
-"His and Her circumstances"
-"Sekirei" (bit annoying at first but search "sekirei list of episodes" up on google and have a peek of the episodes and choose the ones you like the sound of from there)
-"Sakura Cardcators" (totally hooked on this when i first watched it- so CUTE! but its better if you read the episodes from Wiki coz some are pretty boring)

-"Naruto Shippuden" No romance what-so-ever but really good anime to boot!

P.S: Find out all info on Anime(s) from wiki just type into google and up, up an away you go!

hehe XD enjoy the Anime Watching!!!

By romance you mean kissing and stuff or it can be on emotional level?

Because if it can be just on emotional level then you can try Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom, two main character get really close and have big attachement to each other. But series do involve gun shooting action with mafia (but on realistic level, no mecha and magic).
Actually there is one more girl later on who will definetly show love affection towards main lead...

But as I said it involves guns and action, so you have to choose. But it is really good in my opinion.

You've missed Spice and Wolf. It does have elements of fantasy/magic, but largely it focuses on the world of a trader in the middle of the last millenium.
Despite the fantasy elements, a lot of it is rather down to earth, and based on the character interactions, rather than the fantasy elements.

Looking at your list it seems you're not adverse to at least some fantasy.

You've also missed Nodame Cantabile, which is definately at its core a drama/romance series, with a musical-flavoured wrapping.

Classics that will fill your soul.

I too enjoy some down to earth romance, on my search for ithere's my recommendations on some classics that will fill your soul;

Rose Of Versailles - Based on the real life facts of the life of last French queen, Marie Antoinette, and the facts that started the famous French revolution. Wonderful story.

Maison Ikkoku - College student life and work hunting tribulations, starts of as a comedy, but gets very serious later. Highly influential and still one of the best romance series.

Touch - Lovely series, great characters, excellent atmosphere.

Daddy Long Legs - Adaptation of a classic story, it'll hook you.

Whisper of Heart Film - The beauty of being teenager again.

Ace Wo Nerae - The first real shoujo series.

Glass Mask - I haven't watched the new one, but the old one is very good, the manga is still running after 30 years and is still strong, the latest volume when it was released a couple of months ago was featured in the top of the most sold.

9 Love Stories - An OVA consisting of short stories by Kaiji Kawaguchi, very powerful stuff.

------Newer material worth mentioning on the same down to earth league.

Honey and Clover - College student affairs.

Nodame Cantabile - Might have comedy, but if you're searching for grown up material, it's one of the best of the last decade.

Full Moon Wo Sagashite Looks can be deceiving but this is exactly what you're looking for. Major romance and major drama.

Angel Beats! Also is this.

Princess Tutu This is an amazing show. Quite Epic.

Kyoshiro To Towa No Sora

Fushigi Yuugi The romance and drama are cheesy but you might be okay with it. It is very dramatic. It's OLD though.

Glad to hear it. It is indeed awesome and you should love it. It is a little sad but it has a good ending.
