Dark mahou-shoujo > typical mahou-shoujo

But I still prefer Mahou-"shounen" ones like Nanoha.

i still don't get the term "mahou shounen" , i somehow misinterpret that as a series featuring magical boys in the likes of harry potter (as according to the cast of the Daily Lives of Highschool boys manga & anime) which may also has yaoi undertones as with their mahou shoujo misinterpreted counterparts?

instead of magical girls purposely aimed for the male demographics instead of the typical shoujo stuff aimed for little girls & women......

Actually, whenever I read "mahou shounen" I also think of magical boys and not magical girls shows aimed for male demographics
Though, tbh, I wouldn't mind a magical boy anime for once.

Hot-blooded Mahou Shoujo. The original Precure duo is a prime example of "Mahou Shounen".

Actually, Mahou Shounen is a proper (if small) genre and there are shows which literally depict what the name implies.

True. Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok is the magical boy show that comes easiest to my mind.

You mean that one translated by ANN of doubtful accuracy?

I imagine there's usually a lot of changes made when writing an anime anyway.

There are, always.

With Nagai, with him changes in the script are a fact.

The Okada Mari off topic posts (ie those with nothing to do with the series discussed in this topic) were starting to take over the thread, making very difficult for other people try to say something about the actual show.

Never forget that Okada Mari's got her own thread, here:

http://forums.animesuki.com/showthre...112594&page=21

I moved the posts there, please go ahead there with discussions about her and her sales. Leave this thread free for people interested in the series and not just in Okada.

Looks pretty dark.

Of course, last time Okada did dark, we got Black Rock Shooter. We'll just have to hope it's more like Red Garden.

A preview of the OP, killy killy JOKER by Kanon Wakeshima, begins at 1:04.
The video mostly consists of the same clips from the other PVs, I believe.

As long as it doesn't end up doing uninentional comedy like BRS did, I'm interested in checking this out.

I don't think it's not much hated, but MAN Black Rock Shooter drowned in its own angst it ended up being unintentionally hilarious (while still being pretty gay).

I just hope this WIXOSS doesn't fall in the same path.
