Who doesnt really ;0

Also, its just me or none of the characters strikes immediately as likeable :S
Bah, after R11 I turned into a pessimist, I guess - cant keep my hopes up for this.
Well, we can't really tell just from their designs alone. We don't even know their names or personalities yet. But judging from the title, maybe all of these characters committed some sort of crime prior to the game, which is why they're being trapped, or something like that.

Looks fake to me. But at the same time, I could be wrong. But if it is true, I'm not sure if I should even look at it unless either Nakazawa or Uchikoshi are involved.

Im just saying the very first iteration of the title (√w) was way cooler, than now with that "Before Crime * After Days" subtitle.

Judging from this, it seems that yet again, there will be two routes: one for each of the guys (the professor doesn't count.) The guy with the glasses' last name is Tenkawa, but I can't make out his first name or the other guy's name.

The games also seems to deal with a meltdown of some sort- perhaps a nuclear meltdown?

BTW, now that the game's full title has been revealed, does anyone know if there's a way I can change the thread title to reflect this?

What don't you ask the mods?

And I'm glad that they return to the good old two-route pattern; four-route is, well, overcomplicated

Well I guess I was wrong, Code18 is actually real, funny how two games related to infinity series got announced at the same time by two different publishers.

Spoiler for Code18 scans:

o_O.... Who's the developer for code18 then? AFAIK, The license for Infinity series is held by Cyberfront, and they did not do anything with it other than letting Registar do the PSP ports.

Alright, the official site is finally up!

They haven't gotten everything up just yet, but they should have it soon.

The director, draft, and producer is Takumi Nakazawa.

There are three character designers: Mikeou (main), Wadaben (sub), and Narumi Ootaka (sub).

The scenario writer is Souki Tsukishima.

For now, we know that the game takes place on September 16th, 2030.

The protagonist of Route A is a man named Watase Kasasagi. He's 32 years old.

I'll write more when I translate more.

Translated "World" section.

Quote:
Time period Near Future/ 2030 A.D.

Season: Near the beginning of autumn (September)

Length: Varies by scenario (Route B: 6 days, 3 hours. Route A: 6-9 hours.)

Location: Rokumei Research Academy City and a giant atomic energy research institute on the outskirts of town. (LABO)

Population: Approximately 180,000

One of the world's most prominent research cities, with 10,000 researchers living there.

Because the city carries out many important experiments for the government,
it has strict security,
and has severe restrictions on contacting those outside the city.

In order to contact outside the city, you need to write a report to the local government.

If you are not granted permission, you may not take a single step outside the city.

There are regulations on one's privacy security,
so when sending a letter or calling outside the city
there is filtering on your conversation.

But in reverse, there is great care on one's lives by the government.

The public and medical institutions are very well stocked,
it's very clean and safe,
the public order is good, and they are granted tax exemptions.

All citizens who live there must acknowledge this before living there,
but the environment is like heaven to researchers due to the specilization the city has in their areas,
therefore most of the citizens are not particularly displeased by these restrictions.

......Of course, while the town is comfortable, it's also inconvenient.

On the edge of town lies a large atomic reactor,
a giant research institute, "LABO".

The name stands for: "6th Laboratory of Atomic and Biological Organization."

Nickname:"LABO" or "LABO 6"

Are the rumors true that that place is conducting high level research for the government......?

The accident this time around occurs in LABO 6.

Alright, I finished translating all the character bios(see above.). Seems like Natsuhiko's got quite the harem going for him.

Now I'm more hyped for this than ever.

Yuuri/Mashiro/Louise all sound like dating-sim characters from other series. Not sure what to make of route A at all though...

I'll read the whole translation later, but this stuff looks pretty intense.

I agree with your first point, as that's exactly how I feel as well.

What I'm more curious about is the voice cast. The Infinity series has generally used well-known seiyu for their games, but I/O's cast was made up of either unknowns or those who didn't have much fame (I think the biggest known name in that game was either Chiaki Takahashi or Kosuke Toriumi, and that's not saying a lot.). So I'm wondering if they'll go for a well-known cast or more obscure cast. How was Myself ; Yourself's cast by comparison?

For Myself;Yourself, I'm pretty sure the game and anime shared the same cast. Ami Koshimizu (back when her agency really started pushing her) voiced the lead heroine.

For me, the biggest mystery is whether the scenarist can pull it off. Nakazawa's concept is important, but you need a good scriptwriter too.

Apparently, this is his first real work. I'll admit that it seems a bit off-putting, but I'm confident in Nakazawa's directing and supervising talents. The only time he's really disappointed me was in Remember11, and that was just because I thought the ending should have been conclusive rather than leave us hanging. I feel that there will never be a "second Ever17" for us fans, but we can still get stories that are good enough. Besides, every writer has to start of somewhere. I feel that perhaps they're just giving him his chance. I wouldn't judge a writer just because it's his first time.
