So there is no such thing as permanent death in this world then seen as how they can still conveniently see each other whenever they want even after death. It may seem like a good ending on the surface but below that it screams utter crap.

But even so, I though it was good crap at least. The fight was comepletely jaw dropping awesome...it is such a shame that Joseph never got to beat Xargin into a pulp (even after getting another powerup).

And still...they completely killed off Snow with no explanation, great

They didn't "come back", since the beginning Blassreiter had been a show with a very religious undertone with so many Christian/Bible references, it's more than safe to assume that they're souls living in Heaven (heck even Elea spoke of Heaven to Amanda, they really hammered that point), and how believers like Amanda and Malek can "see" them. Obviously this is a very common thing amongst religious people, always claiming their dead family and relatives are in heaven waiting because they obtain eternal life as their souls don't die etc, the way they did it in Blassreiter is just putting it in a visual image sort of way.

FWIW, when Joseph met up with Gerd and Hermann and how Gerd and Hermann borrowed Joseph's body, the way they framed it is that Joseph was literally at the gates of Heaven (hence Gerd told Hermann if Joseph "wakes up here" it would really be the end, as that means Joseph will enter Heaven ie physically dead and only soul remains). And with the final confrontation, it is almost like God himself has bestowed power onto Joseph to overpower Xargin, hence Xargin himself commenting that he was "not the chosen one" when their final battle was a judgement of who was doing God's true duty. Also Joseph himself acting as the "seed" and saraficing himself was perfectly executed, it also means that Joseph had never acted hypocritically at all - he nevered used his power to make people bow to his ways, he gave Xargin every chance to turn back from his path, and he only ever killed the "fallen" mindless Demoniacs, it is almost Jesus-like in his passing, he beared the sins and cleansed all the mindless Demoniacs via his own death. This point is even more clear when you come off from shows like Code Geass' ending which deals so heavily on using power to force your ideals on others.

I's really not that hard to make sense of things if you just look at it from the religious angle. Heck I'm not even religious myself but can see it.

i recently decide to give a chance to this. i remember watching eps 1 months ago and not being convinced at.
LOLGonzo is usually pretty much a disappointement for me, but so far up to episode 16 i m really nicely surprised to see that i m still interrested in the show. I quite enjoy the fact that everyone can die at anytime and that no one seems to have plot armor (except for joseph)
Let s hope that Gonzo doesnt pull a GONZOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ending a la tower of druaga

Lol, what ending are you talking about? The two part seasons are intentional in a sense, since from the beginning we the viewers were teased with a poster for season 2. I simply disagree with anybody that thought The Aegis of Uruk is an ending rather than a prelude to season 2 which would be the same as one 24+ episode series. Also I wouldn't be surprised if Sword of Aegis began where season 1 left off.

Also the ending was very well done, a cliff-hanger done right in the spirit of JRPG IMO. As hints were laid scatter throughout the series, it wasn't whimsical by any means.

There's one satisfaction I got from the series. Amanda chose Joseph while unofficial she seems more happy wanting to know where Joseph is. The sudden Herman x Amanda shipping was rather implausible for me to accept.

Seems like XAT was rebuilt and Germany was able to be a first world country again.

In that case, Malek/Amanda in the only pairing I can foresee unless someone does a fic where the main cast is able to be revived. (I know, it sounds stupid...)

Well, the fights in the finale were pretty crazy. So crazy that the low-resolution stream couldn't keep up...

That said, it also had one of the best Macross-missile/Itano-Circus aerial battles I've EVER seen in any anime. Pretty crazy, that battle against the seventh generation ICBM.

I've loved this series since the first episode. It's truly epic. From the fight scenes, to the demoniac designs. Gonzo isn't afraid of killing their characters, which although sucks for me is a great addition to the story telling capabilities

The last episodes were amazing, Seing Xargins blassreiter form was epic. All of the death was insane. I was truly hoping gerd would come back for a 4 on 1 fight against Xargin, but that was surely crushed when My favorite Character Hermann died, that was truly disapointing but damn did he go out with a bang didn't he? Seeing all of the characters at the end was uplifting, but you don't get to see malek's blassreiter form of 5 years later. I would suspect that the forms change over time like how people age and change. The christian undertones were a little obvious what with mary appearing constantly the talking of god and heaven, but it was an okay addition. I'd love to see a sequel but I seriously doubt it, if this show comes to america I will be sure to buy the DVDs, and I think a blassreiter game would be awesome, if done properly.

yeah somewhat in the last few episodes you start to notice that amanda seemed to care a lot about joseph even if it wasen't really concentrated on. While her feeling for herman might've been more of a friend relationship when herman actually liked amanda.

Ya from the start I was always Joseph x Manda, but then nobody was talking about it so I thought I was the only one and then Herman's almost confession threw me off. I wish they had explored more relationship wise between Manda and Jo.... I guess Joseph didn't feel the same? :S

Joseph seemed like the character that didn't really care much about relationships, he seemed more concentrated on his "fate" or what he needed to do more than anything else.

You can basically pair anyone up since the anime was not descriptive about the relationships at all. Basically with the right mind set you can pretty much pair anyone you want to except for the fact that like 90% of the characters are in some kind of Limbo type area.
