I'm not sure what you're trying to get at; Ranka goes to a different school from everyone else, and Alto, Michael and Luca all go to Mihoshi Academy. Are you trying to inquire as to whether anyone else from the schools have encountered the Vajra?

Voted 8/10 on episode rating

Finally able to start watching Macross Frontier and it didn't disappoint at all.
Animation style is unique but not annoying. The characters are likeable and have personality right from the start, for sure there would be plenty of drama going on in the next episodes.

Just have few rants on the first and second episode.
These are only personal opinion, so I hope die-hard M.F fans won't get upset.

1. Re-use of scene from the original robotech macross.

For those who've seen the first episodes of Super Dimensional Fortress Macross, the way Alto rescued Ranka was almost the same way Rick Hunter rescued Lynn Minnmay. I could have sworn it was almost the same way, the guy carries the girl on the Valkrie's hands, then they get attacked and arm rips off and the guy had to rescue the girl.

2. The extensive use of CG

This is what turned me off the most on the first episode, this is an anime and I'm expecting to see anime. There's so much CG.
Sure, the Valkries and enemies look cool in CG form but the action doesn't feel like anime. Took me some time to get used to it.

Its great that you noticed lol

What you're looking at, its the ultimate fanservice for Macross fans ever. Well its the 25th anniversary grand project.

You will notice in every single episode references and homages of every Macross except maybe Macross 2.

If you're that big of a Macross fan, you'll start to love it instead of seeing some of them as reused scenes.

Thank you for the information, I didn't know it's a 25th anniversary project.

I probably will get to appreciate them later on.
Macross is an anime I've followed in my childhood. This is a special anime for me.

This is one of the only series where I actually liked the CG. Usually I can't stand it in my anime. But they managed to integrate it rather flawlessly into the anime so I actually think it works here. The only problem I have is that they reuse so many of the fight scenes over and over again, it gets really old. But I suppose they needed to save money somehow. At least it always looked good. Heh...
