Cleaners are especially annoying in this regard: aside from their grenades also having an area denial function, I suspect their flamethrower streams actually wash over/around cover to a degree (which actually makes sense) in addition to having good range (at least compared to flamethrowers in most videogames). On the other hand, plinking their fuel canisters is at once effective, satisfying, and a case of Videogame Cruelty Potential. Oh, and if I recall right, being on fire prohibits use of weapons or most abilities (making the incendiary rounds consumable quite useful).

It 'helps' that in addition to the rushers, markswomen (listen closely when you down one), and grenadiers, the LMB has two specialist types unique to them: vanguards (heavy armor, ballistic shield, high-power pistol) and medics.

Well played, sir; well played.

On another note, in case folks missed it, I would point to the plans for post-launch content. Part of this seems to be the addition of item sets, based on the video below (at around 2:17).

Also, TVTropes page. Standard cautions apply.

Just hit level 20. Still enjoying the game, the visuals, and even the solo mode. I am a bit disappointed about destructibility of things (where there is hardly anything that can really blow up and be destroyed) and how everything is kinda just planted in place and how objects don't move around (like walking into boxes and whatnot). Would definitely add more realism to the game and the game would be even better if pieces of buildings/walls would chip off when shot at or hit by a nade. Anyhow, I'm considering buying a 4k monitor too just for this game

I did like how once I was hiding on the front of a Semi and the enemy blew out the front tires forcing the whole rig to come down on the deflated tire. That was impressive. The emersion is good, but I do agree it could use more destructible environments. Like maybe allowing cars to get blown up. But if that happened, it would be a line of destruction were ever I went!

Here's a good one. I had two Riker's standing outside a shop as I was sneaking up on them. One of them said they had a bad feeling something was going to go down. The other said he was just imagining things. "Chucks Grenade"...

I noticed you can cut a hole in glass windows. I blasted a circle out slowly in a large window pane and at the end a large chunk that was the middle piece fell to the ground. So awesome.

I just hit level 30 and I'd wandered into the DZ solo. I was doing okay (didn't run into any players), until I stumbled into a group of 6 epic enemies. I actually killed 4 of them, but the last one launched some kind of instant-explosive at me and knocked me out of cover, while the other guy sniped me. It was kinda unfortunate, but it teaches me that I need to run with a group.

I'm not sure why people make such a big deal out of the Hard missions. I run them solo just fine. Even on the harder ones I usually don't die more than once. Incendiary rounds solve everything.

Well now that I have hit level 30 and some matched grade weapons to go with it, hard missions are not too bad on solo. Unfortunately I killed off my named NPCs and their squads in the game before I could really farm them. Anyway, UBI is going to patch that tomorrow anyway. But its nice to be on a level field at 30. Did my daily Phoenix grind, but its going to take a while to get to a high end blue print.

Side note. Is there a way to link The Division from Uplay to steam? I bought The Division from another website and not Steam but I want to connect it to Steam if possible. The product code that I was given from the site doesn't work when adding it to Steam (game works fine on Uplay btw).

No. If you didn't buy it from Steam you can have Steam tell your friends that you are "in a non-Steam game", but if you didn't buy it from Steam, then too bad. All I can tell you is that you can use Uplay's friends system to do essentially the same thing as Steam. That's how I play with one of my Steam friends who plays it but didn't buy it from Steam. You just have to get their Uplay username.

I have about 50-60 hours on the clock and at this point I've pretty much ran out of things to do. I've done all the main missions, side missions, gathered all the intel and kitted my agent out with all high-end gear.

Pretty much all there is to do is the daily missions, which are just the same handful of main missions on hard/challenging...

I would spend some more time in the darkzone, but since I'm already well kitted out I can't see much point doing that. Besides the hacking is getting a bit too rife for my liking and theres only so many times me and my team can be instantly one shotted through the ground/walls by some teleporting loser. The worst thing is that Uplay is so half-baked that there is no clear way of even reporting it.

Thanks.

So, been having account issues lately. My username has been randomly changing to different names and just now, I changed my username again to my usual and loaded the game. My lvl 25 character is gone, but at the selection screen there are 2 other character level 1 instead. I don't think my account got compromised. Any ideas? According to my Uplay info, it still shows my achievements that I got and the 18+ hours I've put in.

Edit:
After playing around, I think my account did get compromised...ugh.

SO far Ive had no issues. Dark Zone is kinda a pain solo, but exponentially better in a group with friends haha.

Also I accidentally jumped from lvl 23 to lvl 28 without really paying attention (much), haha.

In terms of weaons, I'm running a purple Classic M1A, Superior AUG A3 Para XS, and LVOA-C as my standard weapons. All Level 23, all so far keeping pace. The AUG Para is a beast with sufficient stability mods on it, and while the LVOA-C has high climb in sustained fire, with stability mods and short controlled bursts it's very tight and manageable. I do have a Lvl 28 SCAR-L so I may try that in a bit tonight.

What I'm now doing is my older low-level and midlevel gear is being shunted off into my storage; I'll pass these on yo my 2nd character for when I inevitably make a 2nd character.

Also, for solo playing, I find that I am significantly more effective and pumped up if I have the right music playing:

SMGs in general are beasts in this game. Combine the inherent boost to critical hit rate with some mods/accessories to boost it further, use armor with crit damage boost, and some headshot damage boosts, and you'll tear through yellow-bar bosses. I used to use assault rifles for their balanced stats, but after using SMGs I haven't gone back. Just slap on some extended mags and some stability boosters to the muzzle, and you're good. I pack a marksman rifle as my secondary for range.

I imagine they'll nerf the smg's at some point, since they wreck just about everything on the receiving end.

I'm running the High end Navy MP5 N sold by the Darkzone vendor in DZ06. With a high end extended mag fitted (with +99 mag cap and +27% fire rate) and several other high end mods, its pretty OP and crits basically every other shot from the whopping 64 round mag.

The thing thats kinda sad once you hit endgame, is that up until that point you could use whatever weapons you wanted and mod them to look how you wanted. But once you hit endgame its all about stats, and you'll often end up using guns/mods you don't like simply because they're more competitive.

I personally lean more to the AUG A3 Para XS because i like its looks more than the MP5N. The High End Vector is also good.

A mistake I made was getting to level 30 and then going into the Dark Zone. When everything is now Purple and Yellow and packing armor and shredding me.... welp. I am seriously tempted now to roll a new character, since your stash is shared between characters.

About to get the game soon for the PS4. Any exclusive clothing that can be unlocked over time?

Well there is the AGENTORIGINS code thst can be redeemed at Ubi soft site. It is starts you out with lvl4 gear and full outfits from NYPD, NYFD, Paramedic and Hunter outfits and grear. However it appears it might be North America only. Others have reported having to use a vpn to get the code to work although how they merge it with you psn account is a different story.

The problem with these: the packs and weapons become irrelevant quickly. A solution would be to have them 'scale' - that is, whenever you pick them up from the rewards vendor, you get them at a level suitable for your, well, level; of course you would be able to break down the older versions for materials.

In the case of the weapons, it would have, I think, been better for the distinct looks to be free sprays instead of unique models.

Heard about that story. I bought the North American version so far... but yeah I'm living outside of the area. So I'll see if I meet that fate.
