This thread was made to discuss the manga adaptation of Another. Written by Ayatsuji Yukito and illustrated by Kiyohara Hiro, it has been serialized on Young Ace magazine from April 2010 to January 2012.

manga different from novel?

Can't resist and finish the manga.

I prefer the art style in manga version over anime version.
Aunt Reiko is really hot.

People should read the manga. The events are not handle in the same way than in the anime. There is more focus on Akazawa. Akazawa herself is not the same than in the anime :

Spoiler for chapter 14:

She is much more cold. She said to Mei and the hero that everything is their fault. Her parents are always fighting and her brother desn't leave his chamber. It seems it's the same brother that the one who died in ep 9. But this time, it's Akazawa's brother and he killed himself by hanging !

THe chap end with the beginning of the school trip and you can clearly see that she hates Mei and the hero. I would not be surprised if she tried to kill them

Other than that, there is no ep 8 at all. Akazawa was not in the bar with them. Mei was not present for the tap search : it's the glasses guy who was here.

IS TOO MUCH DIFFERENT! They go to the camp trip wihout listening to the tape and Teshigawara is a lot cooler, not so happy-dumb.

I'm curious to know if Izumi's history in the manga is the same from the novel or not. Because it would let us with three Izumis: Manga Izumi, Novel Izumi and Anime Izumi

Yes, Izumi is practically one of THE points that make each version of Another different. If you're interested in how far the novel is different either take a look into the novel thread or ask me via PM.

Funny thing though: i really asked myself if the post of assistant homeroom teacher even existed and whether I had one in high school.

After Mei's remark now I looked it uo and the job seems to exist - so its actually not strange that their class has one, but that the other classes don't oO

one question, does the manga develops a bit more the events after the ending? I really wanted to see more of Mei, Kouchi, Teshigawara and Mochizuki after the calamity events

it ends similar, with a few differences though:

Spoiler for Differences:

- Kouichi rememmbers her funeral befor ehe kills her
- Kouichi wakes up in the hospital; you see a short glimpse of izumi with short hair(she survived)
- It is mei who explains what really happened to his aunt back then, not chibaki
- You get to hear an old story about something Reiko said to Kouichi's father showing how much she really liked Kouichi (making the whole thing a lot more sad)
- Kouichi tells Mei to visit him in tokyo and go to the art gallery there
- Kouichi says that he has decided to study art (Like Reiko)

So if they go with the last point for Another 2 (already confirmed) he might come back as a teacher being the detective again.

It is still worth reading the Manga though, some things make a lot more sense if you know both.

are you guys reading Another 0? is it a new manga right? it only has 2 ch so far.

I live in the USA, and I would like to know how could I purchase the limited edition 0th Manga (with the Episode 0 anime) online? Are there any recommended sites (besides Ebay) where someone outside of Japan could get it that ships overseas? I never really purchased original Japanese manga before so I am very new to it. I want to start a collection of this series because it was very good.

If any one knows, please tell me. Thanks!
