Hm... I like to listen Vienna Teng when I go for romance and angst, Yuki Kajiura helps too. But I go for piano songs almost always (covers of songs that I like or original pieces)

Chapter 1: The Girl from the City

Alaska.

The least likeliest place for someone to get away from an hectic life...or at least that's what I thought when I read the brochure four years ago. I was nineteen when I took that fateful flight to Unalaska, Alaska with only $3000 and the clothes on my back. It was mind-boggling to say the least but in the end, that decision I took was worth it. As soon as I got out of the airport and saw the snow-covered mountains, the lush green trees with sprinkles of snow dust and the smooth lakes reflecting the towering mountains, I couldn't help but think I was finally home.

Home...that was a funny word.

I not only chose Alaska because of its isolation with the rest of the country but also because of its coastlines. I love to fish and after working in a fishing vessel for two years, I was able to get my fisherman's license and buy my prized boat, Bardiche, with the money I saved from work. I couldn't have been happier. I didn't make much but it's a living and that was fine with me. Of course, my happiness always came with a price.

Always.

Now I live at Kiulk, Alaska, fifty miles from the town of Aleknagik and inhabited by 237 people whose forefathers lived on that very land for generations after generations. So it didn't came to no surprise that I was met with great animosity as soon as I stepped on their 'turf'. It didn't matter if I was an American blond women from an also small town in Maine. To them, I was nothing more than an intruder and in all truths, I was okay with it. It wasn't the first time that someone gave me that shit.

Not the first time.

Two years go by quietly and I was content. The fishing season was over and I bring in the net one last time until the next season comes around. As I pull over to the harbor, two local fishermen (that I never really bother to know their names...) glanced up at me and when we made eye contact, one of them smirked, muttered something under his breath which the other obviously heard and began to laugh stupidly, scaring a few birds nearby. You would have thought that after living in Kiulk for sometime, you could have at least gotten some respect but you'll be surprise. As usual, I paid them no heed and I finally brought my boat to its resting place.

Unfortunately, my curse seem quite intent on making my life miserable...

The only town I made up was Kiulk...everything else are REAL towns in Alaska. I was laughing my head off when I looked them up and realized they were real. I thought when I read it again after sometime that I was stupid for making up these weird names like that but I didn't! lol I can't believe I forgot.

Thank you for reading it. Yeah, I was quite shock with myself when I re-read my story. I don't remember why I chose Fate as a Fishermen, though. I guess Fate is always sexy no matter what we throw at her. Keep reading and you'll get a dose of drama...trust me on that...(I actually wonder what I was ON when I wrote 'Animal Instincts'!)

THAT PICTURE IS AWESOME!!! XD Fishermen!Fate...If I was drinking something, I probably would have spat it all out as soon as I saw that picture. See? Fate IS sexy!

As much as I love crossdressin' ladies (which is a lot fyi)

I do believe the menfolk of Nanoha could do this one well, Yuuno front and center. Griffith and Vice close behind. Zafira and Chrono are too embarrassed to be anywhere but the back. An unashamed Jail joins in, along with Otto because you just can't be sure with her. Acous is there showing off his beauty. And then crossdressing Vita, Hayate and Signum add themselves in because there aren't enough pretty guys/reverse traps and I really really like crossdressing women (>:3)

By the way I will now be listening to this song forever, who are they what is this song and where can I get some.

“Do you see that, Martin?” asked the fishermen who made a joke earlier. I didn't make eye contact and pretended that I couldn't hear him. The other fishermen, Martin, chuckled, his wrinkle face scrunching up more than usual.

“Yeah, I see the thing. I wonder if there was a nuclear waste somewhere, Neville?” he sneered.

I grabbed my knapsack and after buttoning my jacket, got out of the boat and tied the rope around the post all the while ignoring the two dumbasses that had nothing else to do with their lives.

As I climb down the stairs from the harbor, Neville stopped right in front of me, a mocking look plastered on his ugly, bearded face. I adjusted my knapsack and said firmly, “Move.”

Neville and Martin both looked at each other, an amused look playing on their faces. Neville looked at me again and said flatly,”Why should I?”

He then began to bounce on the balls of his feet, a satisfied smile tugging at his lips. Martin laughed heavily, leaning on Neville for support. I decided to just walk around them but once again, they blocked my path. I growled and narrowed my eyes dangerously at them. Even if I was used to the towns obnoxious manner towards me, it does get annoying from time to time. I took off my hat, smoothed out my hair in a way to calm myself, placed the cap on again and said, much more fiercely,”Move, now.”

My response just made them laugh even harder.

“Can you believe it, Neville? The outsider acted all big and mighty!” laughed Martin, wiping the tears from his eyes.

I had enough. I walked up to the two fishermen and kicked one of them to the ground with my boot. Neville, seeing his friend on the floor, gave an angry roar and lunged towards me. Knowing he was going to do that, I bended down, grabbed his legs and threw him over my shoulder. He landed painfully next to his buddy who was still on the ground. Both looked up at me, shocked and seizing this opportunity, I dash right past them before they begin to register what had happened.

Just as I mentioned earlier, bad luck would follow me everywhere.

I was not aware where I was running to; I was so used to running now that my legs would do the work for me. After what seemed like an eternity, my legs gave away and I fell to the snow-covered ground, face-flat.

I didn't know how long I stayed like that.

I was always caught in the merciless trap of misfortune since the day I was born. No matter where I run of to, IT would follow. The haunting images of despair would infiltrate my mind and wreak havoc until I would break down.

I hated that I was weak.

I hated that I was alone.

I want to love.

I want to know what it feels like to be happy with someone, to share a moments embrace.

I wanted to love someone back...with all of my being.

I wanted it so much.

I wanted it so much that it hurt.

But I knew it would never happen.

How can it happen?

It was, after all, my fate.

Heh...how ironic....

I stood up, not feeling my face but I didn't care; my whole body was already numbed beyond help. A slight breeze caressed my body and I closed my eyes, letting it comfort me. But then, a gale suddenly erupted and I slowly opened my eyes, and...smiled. Snowflakes danced all around me in a frantic frenzy as if displaying my grief. I brought my arms open in an attempt to embrace it and looked up at the sky; it was breathtaking and...comforting. The sun was already setting and slate-blue hues were reflecting off the moving chartreuse gray clouds like a painting in a canvas. I brought my hands to my sides and at that moment, the spectacular scene that was engulfing me ceased and everything went quiet.

Too quiet.

The silence was too loud for me to stand.

I reluctantly trudged back to the village that was only a few minutes away from where I was not too long ago. I guess my legs knew where it was going after all.

Habit I guess.

The center of Kiulk, despite its small population, was always packed, especially during twilight. It was the time when the inhabitants would stay out and chat with each other for a long period of time. As I entered the town, a few heads turned around to see me and when they spotted their target, the 'look' was thrown at me. It was the I-can't-believe-you-are-still-living-here look. I guess traditions reign supreme in Kiulk. But as quick as it came, they returned to what they were doing, whether it was gossiping or playing cards.

I rather be a ghost.

An obscure figure that is invincible to everyone else.

It was better that way in a long run.

I had to COMPLETELY revise this part. It took a while but I finished it. I hope it came out okay. Thank you Satashi for your video. That song pretty much wrote my story. ^_^ Ah! Before I forget, thank you Liitha for finding that pic of Fishermen!Fate. It inspired me to fix the story up even more.
