First off, everyone in the world is born with Skill. Said Skill sort of define your life, since it gives the user talent at something.

Fate's skill was actually useless and caused a LOT of problems for him, if you had bothered to read. It caused him constant hunger and doesn't grant him any upgrades at ALL.

His skill turns out to be a case of "Cursed With Awesome": Killing and absorbing life/souls sate the hunger, but the stronger the last meal, the stronger the hunger. In fact, if he left it for too long, it start to become obvious - with his eyes going red - and there's a very high chance he'll lose himself to the hunger.

So no, it's not "your basic fantasy world OP protagonist power fantasy trip" since that power came with a heavy downside.

Second, going by the LN, we learned plenty:
- He came to the city looking for work, but his skill doesn't help him.
- He's dirt poor because of not capable of other works
- He really hates the sons of the family that currently hires him, but can't because he have no powers and no money.

And so on and so forth.

Finally, he's not the only one with this sort of skill in the world. Point of fact: The dark skinned girl a few pages back is also one, with her skill name being Wrath.

So he's part vampire. Small price to pay to get a harem and get broken god-tier stats and skills.

A Wrath skill would have to be different. Wrath is extreme anger.

Greed, that’s easy to say, but it’s hard to resist this instinct-like desire that tries to take control of my body. Sometimes I even mistake it for my own will.

However, there was nothing else that I could do. If I didn’t absorb even a tiny fraction of power……at that time…..everything that had been me would have been swallowed instead. I understood that much.

『If you don’t manage to find a way to properly handle the Glutton skill each time it gets hungry, sooner or later, you’ll lose yourself and cease to be ‘you’.』

Greed’s words weighed heavily upon me.

- Starve the skills -> Go crazy and start attacking indiscriminately

- Ate a strong soul -> Requires souls just as strong to not be in the starvation state -> need to hunt stronger creatures

Thus, Fate will always need to shed blood and eat to live normally.

If you call that a small price, then I have no words.

Also my understanding is there are always being stronger out there, so it seems like Fate will find ways out of his predicament. He hasn't starved to death yet.

^they probably will adress this in due time, I mean even the wn is only up to 80 something (nd each chap is quite short)...if mc were to be starve to death then the story may as well as end there , and if you are refering the dude going nut, I think somenone mentioned that during a fight (not sure which chapt) he did go crazy.....also it seem myne's power is explosive (mentioned by greed when fate was about to wake her up...)

You don't get it, do you? The biggest problem isn't the hunger, it's the insanity and blood craze that come with the it. Sure there are stronger beings out there, but can Fate get to them in time before the symptoms become more pronounced?

Remember, the stronger the meal, the harsher the demands. So he has to keep feeding stronger and stronger souls, with no way to know when will the hunger acts up.

^While true MC's weapon (named Greed) change shape, none of them is a gun, so far even in the latest raw, all the shape it had are: sword, scrythe, bow, shield and a cane (after killing celestial dragon, and he use it to cure roxy's mommy).

The gun guy must be another sin (judging by his weapon's design), so far we have:

You know, everytime I see those pics I get to wonder how come the illustrator was not sued for plagiarism yet. I mean, the blonde girl is pretty much a copy-paste version of Asuna from SAO, while the brown-skinned one is like a loli-version of Altera from Fate/Extella!

The armor design, did reminds me of Asuna's armor but seriously, at first I thought too but I'm not a fan of SAO, so my initial thought change to her hair, reminding me of Ais.

I didn't play fate;extella/grandorder/milkingcow, so I can't answer that one but searching her image in the net, she did looks like her.
