The introduction for this episode was both eye-popping and jaw-breaking. A full sequence about the silver Tomogara that slaughtered Margery's kin before her eyes.
I do empathize a little bit with Keisaku's contempt about he feels useless for not contributing anything to Margery, after he and Eita had been dragged into the battle between Flame Hazes and Tomogara. However, Margery's right that they should not do anything stupid like following her, if both treasure their lives so much.
The problem lies that Keisaku feels his current life is pointless or has stopped right before a void, that he cannot crossover and believes that only becoming a Flame Haze would spring to life his existence.
But, obviously it is a foolish reasoning to make a contract with a Lord of Guze in order to become one.
One of the main reasons why I so loved Margery's flashback was to witness in action again that hell bent on revenge lady that never would stop at anything to achieve her vengeance.
The buxom, killing-machine that Margery was right when she was introduced in the previous Shana season.
With exception of Shana, most of the other Flame Hazes arose for the need to become one in order to accomplish revenge, like in Margery's case.
Yuri fails to because he lacks a hatred for Tomogara and apathy for humanity. A worst possible combination that comes to is a Flame Haze, who still thinks of himself a human, and with a caring heart for justice to protect lives..
I'm certain that Yuri will die on the next episode, but not before proving his worth on battle.
As for Yuuji, kudos to him for having endured the training and succeeding to dispel the phony Rinne (an ugly familiar face which scared the shit out of him
).
His progression at handling power of existence made Alastor at making his decision to start training Yuuji on casting unrestricted methods.
Other good things about this episode were that Yuuji brought back to the topic on the main storyline about the research undergoing on the Reiji Maigo, and the name "Pheles" which made Wilhelmina looked so ghastly concerned to force her at leaving for a long trip.
I suspect that "Pheles" might be the green, long-haired woman shown in the opening sequence.
