Relaxing Romance series
I am looking for Anime or Manga that could be best described as "relaxing romance". Its ok if it splashes other genres to the mix, even a bit of drama is ok (just not a heavy focus on it). I'm ok with whatever setting too.
Examples Lamune (anime) Bonnouji (manga) Horimiya (manga) |

14-sai no Koi - Manga
Love Roma - Manga Gin no Saji - manga, romance is secondary here but it's a great slice of life I'd agree with jedinat that Clannad and Kanon aren't inherently relaxing; they have their relaxing moments but the also have absurd bouts of melodrama. I'd second Otoyomegartari Maybe Nodame Cantabile?

If you don't mind omnibus format(6 episodes per "route"/"arc"), I'd suggest Amagami SS/+ Plus for this.
Inu x Boku SS would fit this, though it has splashes of comedy, supernatural, and drama to it at times. Mashiroiro Symphony some drama, nothing near Kanon or Clannad levels though. On yuri: Candy☆Boy series would fit as this type, though it's sister incest to be clear .

I was going to suggest Nodame Cantabile as well. The romance proceeds at a slow pace and often takes a back seat to the characters' professional development as classical musicians and the various comedic events. Plus there are a lot of lovely musical performances.
Two other choices might be Cross Game and Kamisama Hajimemashita as well.

I actually support Clannad. Most of the melodrama is in After Story.
Whisper of the Heart would be a good choice. Maybe Oh My Goddess or Maison Ikkoku? Or Kimi No Todoke?

Can you give us a response to the suggestions?
Which ones did you like and why? That will help in picking additional series to suggest.

I'm not too picky as long as the drama isn't the focal point (like bokura ga ita for exmaple, so much drama, good though juts not what I am looking for)
As for more examples things like Clannad/Kanon I am ok with, it moves between the two points I just don't want heavy drama focus all the time. Not entirely what I am looking for, but close enough. Really though the things like I listed in my OP and 14-san are exactly what I am talking about, there isn't much/any stress, there is some good laughs, there is a lot of feel good. As far as Yuri/Shoujo Ai my favorite there is Sasameki Koto definitely, some of the other ones get a bit feisty for me though I liked Prism still (haven't tried candy boy yet) Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru is a good suggestion too, it has the right feel and I have nothing against traps/reverse traps I should really get to making a list sometime but I don't have the time right now |

I highly recommend Aishteruze Baby and Honey and Clover.
As for manga, try Love So Life. I know some people condemn the manga for being slow, but the slice of life element and the slow but realistic development in terms of romance make the manga a rare gem. |
