Quite a bit actually happened this week.
Well, we got info dump about END, Jiemma's return (eww), and Gray joining the fight against Mard Geer. Speaking of which, it's about time he transformed. The upcoming battle should be more intense, hopefully.

Wait a minute... so considering what Mard Greer said about END and certain things I remember Zeref say... NO WAY... that far back? Seriously, were the clues for this arc really that far back in the series? My mind has been blown.
Not reading the manga to catch up (which I've been debating for some time now) is so much more worth it. Only bad thing about the episode was seeing Erza's fight yet again, that really pissed me off since everything else was great.

Loved the music during Fray's fight. Anyone know the name of it?
Okay, so from what I understood...END is the ultimate demon from the Book of Zeref, and the demons from that book are supposed to kill Zeref, but to unlock END, you need to wipe out all the magic? |

More Fairy Tail drama.
Problem hopping again. Geer shared some interesting info. So thair evil plan gets explained. Gray showed up to save the situation.. It's pretty much obvious how much he's grown. So Geer counters with an ace from his sleeve..

From my understanding, the magic seal that is on END is so strong, that they don't know of a method to undo the seal. What Face does is get rid of all magic, so by default, the magic seal on END is erased as well. There might be other methods of removing the seal on END, but getting rid of magic in general is the one Tartaros thought up. And yes, the Erza unnecessary repeat was really annoying, since it is so obvious what they anime staff is trying to do. It is like they are not creative enough to fill that time with other useful things. That fight has already been completed and done with. No need to rehash bits of it every episode. It feels like Endless Eight all over again, and that famous series of episodes destroyed an anime franchise that was otherwise really successful.

I should just add in this episode the Erza fight was rehashed a little in the respective manga chapter as well. Though it goes without saying that the anime extended what was shown more than what was there and more than what was necessary.
EDIT: Last episode, Erza's fight was all anime only though. Last edited by MCAL; 2015-11-28 at 08:37. |

Which reminds me, by the logic of Face releasing END, wouldn't Face also release anything else sealed by magic? I forgot what happened to the demon that terrorized Grey and was sealed by Grey's master, Ul.

Well, I think this week's episode got it right with the action, choreography, and OST. Didn't surprise me much that Mard Geer would unleash his true curse power against FT. Scary...
I wish they cut some of the flashbacks but I guess they were important from the Sabertooth's side of the story. GG Jiemma as well. I think he got what was coming to him. |

Geer was wiping the floor with Natsu & Gray.
If Erza loses any more clothes, she's gonna provide the ultimate fan service. Sabertooth's former master hasn't changed a bit in his behavior.. Looks like we're in for a prolonged period of fighting. Good episode.

Episode 88:
Hmm.... So they wrapped up most of the fights now and apparently, Face's timer reached 0. Not really surprising imo with all the buildup. Glad to see Kyoka finally getting owned with their prolonged fight. This also sets up a few things for the final few episodes of the arc like the other guilds joining together to stop FACE, the fate of END, and I guess basically surviving. Somehow, Pegasus is still relevant lol. I almost forgot about them. Fun seeing Kagura again.

So I'm guessing my predictions that with Face activated, anything trapped by magic is released. If I interpret the scene correctly, then it looks like the dragons were released because of that. Then again, it could be a totally different reason they have yet to say.
The preview, though... So much hinted at for despair. We still have no idea when and what Mavis is going to do. And there is the reminder that Jellel is still there doing something. Natsu, on the other hand, by using Dragon force is one step closer to becoming like Acnologia. I'm wondering if becoming a dragon is the final form for the dragon slayers? Also, there was a little bit of shipping for Lisanna and Doranbolt as well.
